Well... great review as always, but clearly FB is the absolute triumph of the subjective... I've always considered this album a minor one and a transition from better things (the whole '78-'83 period) to better things ("L'Imboscata" and "Gommalacca"). But I also consider "Café De La Paix" minor and especially the subsequent "L'Ombrello...". In short... the period that is no longer Battiato but not yet Sgalambro is, for me, minor... (let's be clear...: minor in producing works that a Morgan or a Gazzé wouldn't even create in another lifetime... just to be clear...)

Ah come... you're not in great shape, are you...? This album, having listened to it about 5000 times, is absolutely beautiful, worthy of the best of better times.

Well... first of all, I would say that "Dalla" seems anything but inferior, and "Banana Republic" is widely regarded, alongside "De André and PFM," as the best live album in Italian singer-songwriter music. Then, having a different subjective position is more than legitimate. But in that respect, you really are in the minority. "1983," although not defended by the same Dalla of today (which would confirm that it’s good...), for me contains some gems, like "Pecorella" or "Camion," but not only that, and it seems to me a complex work, excellently refined and beautifully written, regardless of any evaluations, and particularly from both a literary and harmonic standpoint (and here I would like, if possible, an examination of banal verses, banal arrangements, or banal chord progressions, not just a simple "it’s banal," which feels a bit insufficient...). On the subsequent "Viaggi Organizzati," the discussion is very relevant: that’s where Dalla starts to change, but for me he’s still very talented. But we dive into pure subjectivity, perhaps...

There’s also a more or less ethical discussion to be had...: one can choose to buy jazz or high (or more or less high) singer-songwriter music and download ultra-pompous stuff. A small example: I ordered the latest Gianmaria Testa from my trusted store without even checking on the torrent, while (oh, what a confessory declaration...) I downloaded the latest Madonna. I call it the ethical self-regulation code of the music user. The fact is that Madonna is a billionaire at the outset, the moment she signs the contract, while Testa, if he doesn’t sell, can only watch the trains leave Cuneo... (primiballi.blogspot.com)

Certainly the most beautiful album of Coker's recent career, marked by the brilliance of his voice and interpretative technique, as well as by not particularly careful selection or management of musical projects. Here it soars to great heights and everything is almost perfect. Well done. Good review (primiballi.blogspot.com)

honoring him by saying nonsense... bah... anyway, if you're happy, everyone is happy (I comfort myself by thinking that the divine David (he indeed) will never read these pages and especially certain posts)

maginboo...the conversation was going around and in the end, you mentioned the ronnata "watch out for the wolf" among the masterpieces of the past...? unfortunately, that piece marks the beginning of the end...(primiballi.blogspot.com)

you could say "noncertodegnodigilmour," or "fratellodellatatangelo," or even "zeroassoluto"... but don’t take it personally... I'm a Taliban of the Floyd and David in particular, and, being a believer in the commandments, for years I wouldn't mention sacred names in vain, let alone in reference to myself.
