the jappo version is terrible, to put it mildly. If you gave this one a 2, I invite you to watch the jappo version and review it, just to see if you have the guts to give it 3 stars since even if you haven't seen it "it is far better."

Dear Alias, what the hell does it mean that it's based on a novel by P.K.D.? Even I, Robot is based on a novel by Asimov, and it's a mediocre film. Those who scream masterpiece just because there's the signature of that author under the poster should have their fingers cut off to prevent them from reading the crap they write. Then, there’s no doubt that, as in the case of I, Robot (and in 99% of adaptations from novels), the book is more substantial than the film, but that’s a whole other story.

Dear Poletti, the fact is that in my eyes there’s more at stake in Mann's latest talked-about film than in this milestone by Scott... Then, I know how people have been captivated by the film's setting, how some shots look like true paintings, but all this technical work serves to mask a plot as thin as a breadstick as far as I’m concerned. And the now ultra-quoted monologues and the good acting don't make it feel any less soporific to me. For me, Scott did much better with Alien, even though objectively the genre is not exactly the same.

!overrated! then you can say whatever you want about it being a piece of history, a manifesto of cyberpunk and all that stuff, the philosophical crap underneath, etc... for me it's a film that's all smoke and little substance.
