@Longliverock, alright, I can also have a laugh with these case studies; it's clear that in these "reviews" the author matters more than anything else... however, we find statements like the one from Hetzer, who literally said, "Hip hop is neither music nor art, this is clear and evident," which, if I may say, doesn't exude much open-mindedness, regardless of the product being reviewed and the reviewer. That's all.

No, but a film that hits the clichés of the genre must necessarily be penalized. Then, we are talking about films, why bring up the careers of the directors, what does that have to do with it? And if this is a foul, Gangs Of New York and The Aviator are in the third ring.

@supersoul: can you compare Lèon with this? Even just on a plot level, as soon as De Niro meets Nolte, it’s already clear how it’s going to end. And it ends exactly as you’d expect, with the usual cliché. OK, the cast is amazing, but even Léon’s cast isn’t bad; plus, while De Niro steals the show here, in Besson's film the three protagonists manage to hold their own during confrontations. It's a good movie, though, but in my opinion, it’s definitely not a 5. @Fidia: I've had similar experiences :D it’s all very formative.
