Once I sent something I wrote on Debaser to a fairly well-known literature website. The same thing that was (moderately) appreciated on Debaser received a flood of insults and criticisms there. The web is a deadly trap if you don't know how to endure it... and we are a kind of survivors... I didn't follow the controversy around this review and I don't have much desire to :)

PLEASE, SOMEONE ADD THE DISCLAIMER TO THIS REVIEW, COPIED FROM THE BOOK "THE 100 ESSENTIAL ROCK ALBUMS" BY EZIO GUAITAMACCHI... FOR GOD'S SAKE... I can't bear to see this masterpiece connected to that little strawman... I suffer, and the Radiohead would suffer too if only they understood Italian.

I don't agree, Odra: the quality of the reviews has improved significantly. Now most of them are well done; it's not always true that things were better in the past :) On Debaser, competition has been beneficial. Terrible reviews are becoming increasingly rare, and people enjoy engaging in discussions more. The comments are what they are, and there will always be annoying users, but that happens everywhere; even in Biagio Antonacci's forum, there are insults. Even on literary sites, there's a percentage of bothersome people. No site in the world based on the comparison of many users is immune to this. This is the web... we have to accept it. it's only a debaser but I like it ;)

Grant Nicholas for Debaser somewhat represents Carlo Villa of Mucchio Selvaggio: anything that comes from the UK is a good record regardless. Fortunately, Grant Nicholas writes much better than Carlo Villa.

rikardo, the Ministry of Equal Opportunities is tasked with mocking women, not feminists. Feminists already know that it was created to ridicule them. These are good things for those who celebrate March 8th. Anyway, I've lost the thread of the conversation, you are going too fast... and I have the impression that I haven't understood anything.

Rikardo, what you’re talking about always falls within the personal sphere; it's not related to feminism. There is no abortion lobby in Italy, and even if there were, this all falls within each individual's personal sphere (translation: if I want to have an abortion, it's my business). Abortion is a struggle, no less than divorce, in which feminism has participated, but I also engage in struggles and I'm a man. They simply need to be regulated by laws, but that's another discussion... In my opinion, you have a distorted view of the phenomenon: feminism fizzles out in countries where it no longer has a reason to exist (and in fact, who talks about feminism more in developed and evolved areas? Do you really think March 8th is significant?). Showing your ass on TV is not a result of feminism, but a personal life choice. The same goes for having an abortion. What you are referring to is mass culture, which, as everyone knows, is based on mass appeal.

rokardo, I’m glad to hear that you come from a progressive, feminist, and evolved environment, where the only problem for women is waiting in line for a spot as a showgirl. And I’m happy for you if your main concern when thinking about women is this. The lack of culture and interests is a personal condition. I had understood that you wanted to make a general discourse. And if you want to refer to Italy, where do you see this "unconstitutionality of certain corporate lobbies"? Where are these lobbies in Italy? I would see them more in America, but in Italy even the Minister of Justice (Mastella) wouldn’t know what the hell they could be. He would probably think that you (like anyone else) just want to mess with him.

ashanti, but have you ever seen a male politician who isn't demented and miserable? I've missed that... The only difference is in the numbers: 10 seats for men and 1 for women.

But then, excuse me, how could I ever take your apocalyptic vision of capitalist-feminist exploitation seriously? (cut and paste... still without response): "rokardo probably still lives with mom and dad, they cook for him, iron his shirts, pay for his university, he’s surrounded by women and loves them, saying that 'the ones who should claim rights are men', but he doesn’t refer to Iran, nor to any of the 2 billion 350 thousand women living in conditions of semi-slavery, subjected to medieval laws, without protection, exploited and enslaved in the service of men. No: rikardo addresses the women around him whom he loves, that is, those in Cinisello Balsamo, where he lives." (end of cut and paste). Now: since I don’t live in Cinisello Balsamo, no one irons my shirts, no one cooks for me, and above all, I couldn’t care less about any of the women in Cinisello Balsamo, but rather have a global perspective on women, (THINK GLOBALLY - FUCK LOCALLY) why should I listen to you? In fact, I even tried a bit too much for my tastes...

I want the same rights as women when you talk to me, okay?
