But has the new R.E.M. album come out?
Roland Emmerich 10.000 A.C.

Oh my god, this film is complete garbage, with four-meter-long ivory tusks... how the hell do you finance a film like this without any sense? Did prehistoric men speak English 10,000 years ago? And who the hell writes the dialogues for these movies? "We need you, don't kill me, I saved your life, Baku, D'Leh is here!, let's go hunting, I found the eyes of the snake... HAHA!
Ethan & Joel Coen No Country for Old Men (Non è un Paese per Vecchi)

In my opinion, to fully assess this film, we need another 6 reviews, or alternatively 5 reviews and 2 forums, or even 5 reviews and 2 days of chat discussions. So, right now, off the top of my head, with just four or five reviews, I don't feel comfortable expressing an opinion...!

Hey guys, please: twenty-five reviews of this album will be enough, thanks. No more than that, or else once I've run out of topics, I’ll hit you with a 1 and you'll be disappointed.

The page is well written because it is in correct Italian, although it gives me hives in bursts (Protagoras? Periphrase?). Neil Young's phrase is an invitation to stop producing when the same Neil Young has been producing for more than forty years and in the last twenty years only two albums are worth it, the rest is crap—a periphrase in Protagoras himself. If I have been offensive, I apologize, but I don't think so. Anyway, this album is dignified and I am very fond of Pearl Jam...

The page is not badly written, but trying to be constructive, it can be approximated as follows: 1) The sentence "In 'Bush leaguer' it seems to take a jab at Bush, but it doesn't affect me" serves no purpose. It can be liked or not (I do), it's a political song (so the "seems" makes no sense, and the ironic use isn't funny (if that’s the intent); "but it doesn't affect" would that be the review of the song? What does it mean? What should it affect? Why doesn't it affect? Who gained more political votes with the sale of Alitalia? How many euros of increases in minimum pensions would it take to sway the undecided? All questions that remain unanswered. 2) Neil Young's phrase has been so abused, re-abused, and over-abused that it has lost all meaning. I seriously think it has been abandoned by my generation and is now possessed by the MTV teenager generation (the only ones who still have the courage and innocence to claim it and re-present it). Additionally, Neil Young, at the threshold of seventy (as far as I know) certainly doesn’t seem burnt out, so it seems out of place for that reason as well. Moreover, Neil Young really loves Pearl Jam and they've made an album together (choosing quotations, no, right? There will be another 10 million available). 3) Who the hell is "La Folliero"? Never heard of her. Is she essential for understanding the album? 4) What does "Difficult like making rock ‘n roll at the age of 40, especially if you had a rough upbringing" mean? On the first I must disagree with valid reasons, on the second it's likely a consequence of the beatings the Pearl Jam endured as children. 5) "the failure of rock ‘n roll as a genre that aims for social and cultural planning, and not merely musical" is a statement thrown in there for effect, it makes no sense, you need to explain, it means nothing like this; words matter, Moretti says it too. 6) "generation anthems were expected": but who? the MTV fifteen-year-olds? Since Pearl Jam was born you would have expected anthems for at least three generations, but can't you just let them age in peace?

I listened to the album while doing some dirty stuff with my girlfriend, with compact and precise drumming that generated very evocative clean screaming, alternating powerful outbursts with elegant mid-tempos. Or was I also fishing for trout? Debaser: 5000 reviews on black metal mixing the same 5 words every time.

Ah! Finally a five-star review from a humble reviewer, damn! Two things that are becoming increasingly rare on Debaser. Is there possibly a case of a human being involved as well?
