What I’m telling you isn’t something I just made up; I sing, and I’ve often found myself singing "the show must go on" and "livin' on a prayer", for example. Well, the chorus of "the show..." is harder than "livin'" (at least before the last part of "livin'", when it goes up a semitone!), but to sing "livin' on a prayer" I have to work three times harder, because even the verse will kill you, while "the show" lets you catch your breath, in the verse, that is. This isn’t a universal example, but I’m talking about two songs that I know well... I believe I could extend the comparison to other songs, but I don’t have practical evidence.

Well, damn, I hadn't read your post. I don't agree. In my opinion, Freddie Mercury had an impressive talent, but his songs are easier to sing BADLY (I repeat: sing BADLY) compared to Bon Jovi's, because the impressive thing about Jon's voice is that it doesn't go low for a single moment. Freddie had a more airy way of singing, which at times (certainly not in all songs, but in many) went low and allowed the throat to take a breather and rest...
Then, before being insulted, I want to specify that if someone sings EXACTLY like Freddie or Bon, they're better if they sing like Freddie, for heaven's sake... but regarding Jon's voice, like it or not, I believe there can be no criticism...
And don't you still understand that saying IT SUCKS is immature and counterproductive? Is the expression "I don't like it" just nonexistent in your vocabulary?

He's a genius, certainly not on the level of the greatly missed Anton Maiden (R.I.P.), but…

As you can see, I'm trying to use polite and calm tones. It's just that you (and it's often evident in your comments on various albums) if you find someone who disagrees with you, you start saying that they don't understand a thing. It's a behavior that is nothing short of grotesque; perhaps you would agree with some dictator or a few others...

But then, Zuckina, who is rude and insults is not me; in any case, I don't give a damn if I’ve annoyed you. The basic difference between my argument and yours is that I’ve only said that R.E.M. annoy me and have supported my statements (in my supreme ignorance as the uncultured person I am), while you, as an immense gentleman endowed with the supreme wisdom of the musical universe, shovel tons of shit on a band that surely won't tackle mystical themes and will never propose committed music. But that's really too little to be discredited like this. Just so you know, the first BJ album is from '83, and honestly, I don't believe you've listened to them all properly, maybe because, like me with R.E.M., you’re not pushed to delve into music that from the outset doesn’t convey anything to you. Your arguments about this being objective and that not being so demonstrate a complete lack of objectivity, because we’re not comparing Frank Zappa to the Spice Girls here; we’re talking about two groups of great impact and worldwide success that, in totally different ways, have left a serious mark on the music of recent years.

I’m not saying you’re right, that way I avoid being accused of homosexuality. Zuck zappare was not an insult but a piece of advice; if you approach discussions like that, you’ll see that neither the earth nor the hoe will have anything against what you say.
