Ramones The Best Of
Voto:
Disturbing like a drop of blood on a starched double-breasted jacket (this morning I feel poetic): "the Ramones belong in the pantheon of Punk, alongside the Sex Pistols, Clash, Dead Kennedys, and the ever-present Avril Lavigne (who has little to do with punk, but the world seems convinced otherwise)."

Since Appetite for Destruction (already that album was fun, but still very enjoyable), they have taken a significant step back.

Well... Damn... I just can’t digest this review. It’s like those Sunday wedding lunches in the summer heat… I don’t know if I’m making myself clear. But anyway, aside from your personal interpretation of the review (which I don’t like, as you may have guessed), this story about punk being made by idiots is new to me. I don’t like punk as a genre, but I’d like to know what you actually know about that movement, during which it’s likely you weren’t even born yet. I do quite like the album you reviewed, though.

But enough with the justifications!! If you like it, you like it!
What a drag. It seems like you're (not just you...) under examination. Just say it’s light, that it’s tasty, summery, but why these phrases: "I don't really know why I thought of talking about this album. Oh, yes! Now I remember. I paid 5 euros for it."
Have the courage of your actions. In my opinion, in their genre, for their time, they were truly great. The problem is that their genre was disco music, with all the pros and cons that come with it. I'm your boogie maaan..... That's the way I like it!
Spike Lee 25th Hour

Madonna, what friends you have! He probably had already received letters of that kind otherwise he would be out by now. Or, tell your friend to change lawyer. Anyway, the judicial system in the U.S. is precise but lethal. And the prisons are a disgrace (in terms of various abuses and violation of rights), trust me. Here in Italy, we are caricatures by comparison.

Joe Pesci hitting with a baseball bat? Extreme. Anyway, back to the legal issues of the film "25th Hour," I assure you, it’s mooooooly better to end up in prison in Italy. Trust me, I know for sure (ahem... I haven't been there, obviously...). This is because in Italy, if you get sentenced to 7 years, you know you’ll actually serve 2 or 3 in prison. But with plea deals, reductions, probation, good behavior, etc., you always get to go home early. In the USA, it’s really tough. In their prisons, once you’re in, anything can happen, and above all, it’s hard to get out before the end of your sentence. That’s the tragic reality of this film. They don’t mess around there. Just a few days ago, it was reported that for a repeated offense of stealing cell phones, someone got 96 years. I’m saying 96! It’s time to review some good old movies by Al... Brian de Palma, Scorsese... what a delight!

This is a film that I really liked and didn't expect to like so much (Mollica spoke highly of it...). Yes, I agree that it is one of Spike's best, indeed I believe it's the most mature and the best. The review, in my opinion, relies too much on the city of NY. It's clear that Spike Lee's films ARE New York, but for this film, I would also highlight the personal story of the protagonist that you didn't emphasize, Caz... The brilliant idea of depicting the last day of someone who is about to go to prison. And the prison system in the USA is ruthless. You know you’ll serve your seven years and suffer. It's not our little cage where, as you already know, talking with a lawyer, you might get out in three years even if you’ve killed someone. Over there, it’s no joke, and the protagonist knows it. He feels time slipping away. He has to hurry. He is scared. He is alone. He makes his calculations. It seems like he’s about to die. Time is running out, and he has to make a decision. It's a fantastic film.

After all, I understand you Giorrrrgio. I was a young lad when this album came out, and I too sang "You giiive love a bad name!" I'm not ashamed of it. But unfortunately, it’s an album that hasn’t stood the test of time; it flopped (within a few hours, in my case) like, shall we say... B-movie material, splatter, all in all, half rubbish, if not all of it. I only agree with the adjective "tamarro," but unlike you, I don’t consider it an advantage.

Beautiful review that tells us about the end of the Beatles. And Spector was a great, just like the Beatles.

Congratulations on this choice. I also agree with the 4 for the album.
