Bruce Springsteen Born To Run

Grendel, you've brought up a topic that I don't think I've ever touched upon in my posts, but it's fundamental for understanding Springsteen: how he relates to his audience. I've been following him for over twenty years now, I've seen six of his concerts, and he's never disappointed me as a person. Sure, this has nothing to do with his artistic production, but... Seeing a 4-hour rock concert, I mean 4 hours, has never happened to me before and I doubt it will ever happen again unless it's with him. An artist could easily not care, thinking, well, they’ve paid, who cares, I'll just do my two hours (if I'm lucky) and that's it. Springsteen has always been unique with his audience, engaging, genuinely likeable, and above all, incredibly respectful towards them. He often said: "When I give a concert, I sing and play as if it were my last. I know it won't be my last, but for many who come, it might be." Even at the last concert I attended, in San Siro three years ago, it was the same thing. It was pouring rain, it was summer but there was cold wind and rain, yet he, who could have stayed covered under the stage awning, came out to get completely soaked to be close to his fans.

Editors, all little dwarfs, maybe it’s time to stop counting votes from anonymous users. Especially when they have nothing (and I mean nothing) to do (or say) and are in the mood for petty little pranks (like the ones who throw a firecracker into your mailbox and cowardly run away at 100 miles an hour, risking to trip over their own tails...) like the one above who even signs his name, giving a score that makes no sense other than being openly "bastard". I mean, one puts in passion, effort, spends minutes of their time and then a "ciammellotto" (as we say in my area) comes along to pull a dirty trick on you... I don't know, it’s ridiculous and sad (for the writer and for the reader). You’ve implemented the option to exclude anonymous comments, I’d say it’s time to rightfully eliminate anonymous votes as well. No? Otherwise, one excludes anonymous votes, but then still finds their votes in the final average. Let’s give a little sense to it all.

I give it a 5, because encouraging listening like you did is not easy (the last sentence is really nice). And this is music to my ears!

Black, this is a wonderful album. Excellent work. A must-have at all costs (even though I believe you can find it for 10.00). A must.

The only downside of the excellent review: every music lover should own this record. Essential.

Oh Maurinho, don't take it the wrong way, I told you I liked it. It's just that before writing it, this site reminds you that it's better to refrain if there are already reviews on the album in question. That's all. Anyway, well done and welcome!

It's the third review... if there hadn't been any others, yours would have been a solid 4, but like this?
