Here, shoegaze no thanks. I understand U2's bucks, for sure. I get that without as much cash from shoegaze, they could do without it. - I believe they would have answered all the questions easily, but you would have come up with even more curious ones.

I read your little page, irresistibly drawn in by the album cover, the unforgettable face of Anna Karina from a frame of Godard's film, "Agente Lemmy Caution: missione Alphaville." Now I might also listen to these young lads from Manchester.

Strange, I was sure this album had been reviewed; I remember we talked about it on DeB, and many people liked it, myself included. I haven't listened to it in a long time and I don't even know where it ended up. You consider it the best piano work of the new century; I hope to find it and listen to it again...

I will listen to this as soon as it drops into the folder (just found Page not found » AlbumDL David Toop is, before anything else, a critic, a theorist, and the author of a beautiful volume, that "Ocean of Sound" from the '90s, which contributed to an interesting interpretation of the so-called "ambient," starting from Debussy and reaching contemporary electronics (there were also two homonymous CDs, not bad at all). The last one I listened to is Black Chamber, released by Sub Rosa more than 10 years ago, and it was a good album, quite empathetic with "us common listeners."

In a condensed version of precise images (certainly rhetorical, but how can one avoid it? And then, after all, why should we?), I hold onto the one evoked by the consideration of the fate of desires, the ideal world of the dung beetle. I am, I believe, older than you: in 1984, when the mini containing Wyatt's covers was released, I was still grappling with the hypothesis of the world we had dreamed of, and I felt that what had seemed like a defeat had avoided a worse one, at least for me. Victor Jara had been present like a holy card, in the iconography of the previous years, the languid, terrible power of that song reached me only through Wyatt's voice, as it did for you. That vinyl is among the most worn out of those I own. It's nice that you expressed it so well.
