Damn, stylistic acrobatics! That's what captivated me in "The Undergrounds of the Vatican." I've been wondering about this for over thirty years; I was about to reread it, and instead, you know what I'm going to do? Rewind the tape. Thank you.

Anyway, to me, the tapeworm seemed beautiful. Almost nostalgic.

Yes, indeed those pieces have flavors that feel somewhat familiar, but they are respectable. The use of the voice seems a bit anonymous to me, at times the melodic lines are "unstable" in relation to the metrics, but it's more than respectable. Certainly delicate, and certainly devoted to love, attempting the arduous task of avoiding the banal: it seems to me this is their third album, better than many others but somewhat blurry. It could be that a more attentive listen and more material reveals facets of a broader spectrum.

Everything is fine, we will listen and let you know. But the final pairing of "rough times" and "electronic music" is either a result of ignorance of the subject (but then why talk about it?) or a dichotomy that exists solely in your head (or perhaps both). Thank you anyway for the suggestion (I listen to a lot of electronic music, but I don't consider the old singer-songwriter genre to be rough or irreparably finished, as long as it can convey a sense of being).

I had to find a few minutes to read it carefully: it's a concentration of vivid images, with countless symbolic references and metaphysical connections, a fluid and pleasurable lexicon. With gratitude, I thank you to the fullest.

Regarding "L'isola," a character came to mind, long gone, who had a brief notoriety in Turin, a sort of underground cult, which the internet today allows us to resurrect. His name was Carlo Credi; I still remember him, after 40 years, at the Baloon, the popular market in Turin, with his white and guitar. This is his version of Del Prete's piece:

Well, listening to the title track on YouTube, all these beautiful intentions and your passionate exegesis clash with a rather weak and mediocre "product," which the presence of Arcari and Corsi can't elevate much. It's too little to draw a definitive judgment; for me, however, it's enough to consider the comparisons you make with the musicians too generous (and consequently inappropriate). I also caught a glimpse, always on YouTube, that he does a cover of Duilio Del Prete: perhaps that's the dimension that suits good Freddie best. But he'll have to work quite hard.
