Marianne Faithfull Broken English
Voto:
I was a few years older than you when the album came out. And I had a certain skepticism, like the Count. But I changed my mind. What I prefer today, however, is Strange Weather. The one released in 2014, "Give My Love To London," is good too. And after seeing her in "Irina Palm - Il talento di una donna inglese," I appreciate her even more. - I'd give "Broken English" a 3.5, but I round up for sentimental reasons.

I arrive here reading proggen's comment. And I quote it, adding an exclamation!
Fred Bongusto Alfredo Antonio Carlo Bongusto

Why do Molise, Tenco, Italy, Bongusto himself not deserve a capital letter? Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t... I won’t delve into the substance and form of your page, but I’d like to ask a question about a detail: beyond the repetition of some terms that others have already pointed out, what strikes me is that you define some songs (or rather, pieces) as “inappropriate.” What do you mean?
La ciapa rusa Antologia

Well, this is funny. Never, and I emphasize, never would I have expected to find La ciapa rusa on DeB and, even less, for you to be the one talking about it. If you have the CD, you’ll know that the album was released by "Robi Droli," which is now effectively part of Felmay, which has a vast catalog of both its own and distributed folk and ethnic music. One member of the group, Beppe Greppi, is a co-owner of the label, along with a partner. With his partner, over twenty years ago, we opened a record store specializing in world music and avant-gardes that, miraculously, still exists today (having essentially transformed into a sort of branch of the label). You can imagine that it's curious for me to read about a group that is definitely obscure, especially an album from almost 20 years ago (I believe this anthology is from the early '90s) so long after (I left the store after three years, I did other things, it’s quite a distant memory for me now). - Then, the page: I have to say that right here, where you could have elaborated on "organetti e orchestrine," you surprised me again, providing a precise, accurate entry on DeB, in service of the album and the passion, even philological, that supports it. But thank you. Well done. Well, goodbye.

@[luludia] and anyone interested: to continue in the hybrid area of the "mixed" folk you mentioned, if you don't already know them, here’s a summary of the work of Hedningarna, a Swedish group, but with Finnish, Norwegian, etc. members and guests, active since those years (late '80s). They released a compilation last year titled "Kult": MEGA

Who knows how the good Hector would respond if he read your words. It's almost 10 years since he left us, damn. This is one of his albums that I've listened to the least, and it only represents a part of his multifaceted work, which really spanned very different fields, from his early days to his last albums (I have Quadri{+}Chromies, a CD and DVD, hard to describe, back then I wrote a few lines and then tossed them). I first encountered him through the vinyls of Crammed Discs, in the early '80s. A gentleman, I believe. At least that's what his music makes me think, and a bit also his face. Ok, R.I.P.
