This whole thing about movie reviews seemed like a gamble to me, as I’ve mentioned elsewhere. And this confirmation wasn’t necessary, as far as I’m concerned. But to deal with such negligent avarice towards a film like this, which would require a treatise just to unfold all the elements that compose it and the many peculiarities, even just technical ones, that make it unique, is a mortal sin. With no possible absolution. As for personal rankings of things "greater than all time," let’s skip that, since everyone has their own. But precisely because it is, undeniably, a great film, the wisest thing to do is to watch it. And then watch it again. And only if you have something to say, attempt to do so. The best you can. Failed. Failed. Failed. Have mercy. If not on us readers, at least on great cinema. Stop it.

I too had the pleasure, for a few minutes, on TV... What a horror. Well, if anyone in here has ever been tempted by an ill-considered purchase, even though that seems unlikely to me, your review takes care of it.

I don’t know the entire discography, but "Confessioni di un malandrino" is certainly as well-known as the nursery rhymes. I have an overall negative judgment both on the author and the performer. He moves in musically potentially rich territories, which he renders desolate, with little courage and a lot of repetitiveness, despite having the possibility of reaching much better shores. I remember he was probably enchanted by a record by Daniel Lanois, that’s a great record (it’s called Acadie, I think) and he came up with a shameless attempt at imitation, and it's perhaps among the best things he has done. You know what I’m talking about, I believe. I don’t even remember the title of the single. Your review is well-argued and exhaustive. I just can’t stand him. I will, however, try to listen to this record.

Ah, dotsF**kdots, look, I just thought of something regarding what you buy and don't buy and why, etc. There’s a really great, recent review of a Buzzcocks album. Read it, it won’t hurt you. I think we can talk about punk; everyone has done it. But if you miss the Buzzcocks because of the silly ones around today, you’re not making a great choice. Now I'll be quiet. Bye.

P.S. I rate the album for a somewhat vague memory and you for the perfect ending.
