Hal - Regarding this whole Enkriko story, I’ll tell you that I don’t really care that much about external perception because I imagine I’m in a public space where anyone who happens to come by might form perceptions that could be distorted, and maybe some attention, if one takes care of the space itself, could help. This hasn’t stopped me from saying the same things (I’m repeating myself) that you said.
As for the other issue, I certainly don’t intend to get into personal matters. There was a misunderstanding because Nick mentioned it, the issue (an issue, even if it’s in the past, is still serious), so I assumed it was public. Also because, again, the space is public and tragically the affair is public: get it? If it can’t be talked about, or if it’s a private matter, then minnifuttueccome. We’re missing out. And as you may have noticed, I also asked Caz, who had returned with a post. Damn, the effort to explain oneself sometimes! I don’t usually use that word, but this time it’s warranted - :)

Hal, I understood perfectly. I didn't say very different things, if you read them. It was a speech regarding the "outside" perception of what was happening. Do you think I believe in a "victim"? That you speak for yourself is evident; I really like that. You must be quite upset to have read my post in that other way. But do you know anything about the editorial situation?

Yes, I know, boredom. It was to convey the idea. In some way, however, you become like the intruder. I like the guys too. Generally, though, there's a naturally greater camaraderie among those who have been here longer....

Or you too, Caz, if you feel like it...

But did G see it only from Nick after Caz's editorial? Or was the reaction written down and I missed it? Because I too was quite taken aback by that "editorial." And relieved by its removal. If you know anything, Hal, would you be so kind as to enlighten me?

I know it seems boring to bring this up again, but I think it's necessary. For Nick, it’s obviously a different matter. However, this defensive response, although completely understandable (I believe I’ve said the same things), appears, when viewed "from the outside," as the reaction of a consolidated and "closed" group to an outsider, at the moment when this outsider attacks one of their own. This is also understandable, but it oddly transforms the outsider into a "victim." I hope it's clear what I mean. I think that, aside from Nick, this "organism" could react by accepting apologies and possibly, in the face of repeated misconduct, resorting to isolation. As for the seriousness of Caz's intentions, I had no doubt. However, that becomes a private matter...

Well, enkriko, this is worse. Mc Sampyr is a guy who probably has too much to say and not enough desire to verify or rethink it before speaking. Nick didn’t take that into account and confronted him head-on. But you... If the photo you're showing us isn’t of your uncle, it seems you've left your teenage years behind for a while. What you said is serious. Serious, because it's clear there's an absolute absence of irony, and even that wouldn’t justify it anyway. Let alone provocation or ā€œplaying.ā€ And you have all the tools to know this perfectly well, but you pretend not to. Yes, really. This is worse. I imagine asking for forgiveness would feel too humiliating for you. However, I fear it is the most honest and courageous thing you can do. Regards.

It's a shame that reading some of your reviews doesn't reflect what's shown here. It's a shame that all this space is taken up by what we see up here. It's a shame that I can't help but say it every time. But, what a pity.

Have you ever seen the dance of St. Vito? Come on, Pacino, do you like Fante? A wife for Dino Rossi, (but I wouldn't swear on it, I might be butchering the title 'which is another one of those borrowed and never returned') unlike the others, was published by Sellerio. That one, which I never see mentioned, was quite nice. Overall, including "Aspetta primavera," well mhhh... Veronesi is right, and precisely for this reason....
I'm re-reading, in bits and pieces, the stories of Tommasino. It's going to take a while. My first top 5. I would have never done it. Thank you.
