One more reason to not care, given that we can't even listen to the stuff we accumulate.. @hobbit: great idea, they seem made for it: so tiny, these giants, they won't have trouble fitting in your Icoso. It's not even, for the most part, among my favorite listens :) But the album I was mentioning is considered, quite unanimously, one of the most important, if not the "manifesto" of f.j. And Shepp's name is indelibly associated with that title. It's just that when it comes to jazz, it's important to consider that there is a historicization, that's all. - I don't know Shepp well enough to express opinions, but I also like Attica Blues. Did you come across him through the electronic group that took its name? I had heard something. How are they?

Judging by the samples available on the website, I would say that "definitely over the top" is at least misleading. It somewhat clashes with what I read two lines below. However... It's a Morr music product. Interesting mention, despite the excessive verbosity.

Sylvian, his strength lies in orchestration, in creating atmospheres. Thus, the soundtracks are also good and I assume the collection "Film Works" is too. Just yesterday I was re-listening to Piano Works, which I had somewhat brutally judged as a bit dull. I believe, instead, that it is a good album, though I would have preferred it to be more "condensed."
