Imogen Heap Speak For Yourself

If I'm not mistaken, their voice was on a good record by Urban Species, about ten years ago. Is that possible? I'm not familiar with this one. Samples, please. - Campaign Samples 2006 -

D'Este, I distinguish the controversies, even those tangled with the facts. One of them is that your comments are cornucopias of information and "readings" of the records from which I confess I always draw with careful attention (today, for example, I'm taking away New Chautauqua). Therefore, I urge you to write that review of Wichita. I never doubted you appreciated it, but I believe you should reverse the assumption: since you are very attached to the album, you can avoid the infamous "critical distance" and deliver us an involved page. And most likely an engaging one. Otherwise, what is the use of this emotional public space? It would be enough to read a jazz magazine, right? Best regards.

Regular, you're back! I thought I would read this review under your name. Pretazzo's isn't bad, though.

The dichotomy of voice and music had already manifested earlier, for example in "Motives For Writing" (which I really liked), producing the effect you describe well, but in the lamentations, it becomes at times unbearable. A 4 for this album seems more than sufficient to me. I would reserve the 5, indeed, for "After Virtue." Of the latest, I only have Skopos, which indeed turns out to be a bit of a laborious hybrid. The "familiar" quality of his proposal is perhaps the most interesting detail of the usual excellent page you release.

Well, I've gone through one screening after another and now, at 7:09 PM, the gap is narrowing and the Senate is pretty much on a knife-edge. Damn... - I see among the comments a mini review by Gabbox, certainly more concise than I am. And I endorse it as well (5) - See you after the final results. This country is still a mess.

Great tip, excellent collection of samples, but I didn't understand if the record is recent or not. In the meantime, I'll pass it on to my downloader right away ('damn, I guess we’ll have to renegotiate the contract).

Yes, there are two. But they are two different things, both of quality. I vote here as I did in the other one (I was in gray). For me, it's a nice album, but not a five. Even though I played it quite a lot when it came out. - @ Mauri: well, you should really listen to this... It's a nice snapshot of a lot of things, centrifuged from the electropop sound of the '80s. Maybe not to your taste, but definitely interesting.

Well, Hal, this is prickly (?). Quite a different story from "Out Of Tuva." Another side of a rather indecipherable personality. Another aspect of using a voice that is still interesting, engaging and/or repellent. He has a history of collaborations with improvisers, and here, if I remember correctly, you can hear...

Perhaps we should remember the unmistakable hand (for those who know it) of the versatile Arto Lindsay, even in the production. It largely determines the part of "modernity" that Paolo notes. Or am I mistaken? I don’t have the record with me, so I can't verify. - Given the reference to the historical period in question, and not to put more strain on an exhausted mill, I invite those interested to check out the review of "Tropicalia": an excellent, recent sonic document of those years of creative fertility and blind repression: Tropicalia - A Brazilian Revolution in Sound - AA.VV. - Recensione di odradek
