Well, I don't have a precise memory of this album, which I only have on vinyl and which didn't completely convince me back then (I liked the cover very much). It is the product of a "return" phase after a few years of "eclipse"; it marks the beginning of the collaboration with M. Miller and opens the 1980s. It seemed uncertain in its direction to me... I will listen to it again to verify your very strong judgment <<..one of the most successful, one of the most inspired..>> seems to me a demanding definition. Nice review anyway, congratulations.

Ok, Hal. Just a matter of time...

The same old story: iconic objects, which become mythical and paradoxically diminished by the very emphasis that surrounds them. In short, this record left us quite stunned when it was released. And it’s still a great record today. But regarding the "influence" of P.U., I’m reminded of a phrase by Bertoncelli, yes, him, a few years later. Something like: << imagine if in the "history of rock" the Pere Ubu had "won".... >> I simply don’t think that happened. Even though a myriad of recent groups that we like have listened to this record very attentively... - The ghost of good old Scaruffi always resurfaces in one way or another in DeB….

What a beautiful page, and what a strong ending. Socrates, I really liked this album too. Even though by '90 I had already hung my hot head on the hook...

I’m rushing back for quick replies. @ Antmo: I really appreciate your lovely special offer, Pippo, but I’m not a collector. There’s some distortion here. Just like in your gaze, darling. - @ Festwca: after reading yours, you’ve won. Much more concise, much more effective. - @ zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz: I’m afraid that option isn’t on the table. Take it or leave it :)- @ Wanderer: Wanderer reminds me of the forms that kindness and sympathy can take :)- @ Styx: not yet, but it’s on the list. As soon as I have it, I’ll let you know. - @ Lello: thanks. Which of the others do you recommend? - @ Ajeje & Stoopid & Sfascia: that track is practically a world of its own. Kyuss? Well, maybe something, partially... Ombra? Well, with summer who wouldn’t want some freshness, perhaps flamboyant and chaotic? Thank you gentlemen for the visit - @ Psycho: Thanks, but it’s a shame you have such firm principles :)- @ hugoniot: what does it mean to be inspired by releases? Anyway, no, I read some reviews from Onda Rock when I found references among the comments on DeB. Recently, by a fortunate coincidence, I’ve come across way more records than I can listen to, especially new ones. It won’t last long, I already know, and I’m taking advantage of it. - @ Socrates: See above. Yes, I also hope to find time to listen to them calmly. I’m working like a mule these days. I’m off to read the Socratic maxims, have a good day everyone.

A greeting to evribodi fleeing: I tossed the samples. - I apologize to Psycho. But come on, do it. On a recent album two different reviews don't seem like a problem to me. The story you hinted at, you have to tell it now...

Too kind. Just listen to the sempols, though, since you’re around here. - I saw that you were tempted by the Pere Ubu. Those, and that album, for sure. Even if it’s another time and another world. These guys are good, but they could maybe sharpen their ideas a bit more…

Know-it-all, it’s time to take a risk (see previous post). Although it seems funny to give definitive advice to a...know-it-all.
