P.S. For those who appreciate Mercury Rev: I believe I still have somewhere a mini LP or an extended play, made in collaboration with Alan Vega, I think in '94. It wasn't bad, but I don't know if it was ever released on CD.

Festwca, I completely agree with you, even though I have these on vinyl and, as usual, haven't listened to them in a while - Regarding the attention, I have to say, not to flatter you, that I remember quite well your arrival in DeB and it seems to me that you have found an increasingly personal way of DeScrivere. This page in particular seems very successful to me; the intent you declare appears evident while reading it - But here we are again: either we write treatises that touch on all aspects, emotional and personal, technical, context of the album, relationship with other productions, track by track analysis, contextualization within the band's discography, etc. (and then 9,000 characters are not enough) or we try to offer a picture that contains some elements, an idea of what we felt we heard. Or we’re foolish and write 2 reviews and 14 samples, hoping for the mercy of the court...

I feel sorry for Pacino too. I really like that guy, and he is one of the most keen-minded keepers of posts on the site. Will he come back? If he doesn’t, with my proverbial bravado, I will go bother him at home, sooner or later. - Happy holidays, professor.

It's true, Symbad. This record is great. I disagree a bit about the maraschino, not so much because of the smell, but I just don't like it. However, there are alternatives, no problem.
Kocani Orkestar Live alla Cascina Monlué (MI) 13/07/06

The Kocani are a formidable show. I saw them live eight or nine years ago, and at the end of the concert (imposed by the authorities for time limits) they also came down from the stage, playing, and continued for quite a while, zigzagging through the audience. The power and speed that those brass instruments manage to deliver is only partially captured by their records (Macedonia: A Gypsy Brass Band from '95 is a great work), and if they happen to be in your area, take SuperCheri's advice, don’t let them slip away.

@ Socrates: beautiful, right? Maioli is a curious character; I think I’ll delve deeper... - @ Stoopid: Bi thanks!! - @ Zarathustra: truthfully, there are many things I don't know. I Dream, for example, only slightly. And I fear that if I were to write about "The Dark Side Of The Moon," I would only stir up another hornet's nest (and I really don't care) because I'm fond of the early Pink Floyd and rather skeptical about their "evolution." Then, since I've been here, I've tried to focus on recent or very recent albums, or to rediscover good records that have been somewhat forgotten. After all, there are others, more suited and more skilled than me, to tackle the "classics." And there are quite a few, it seems. - @ 6+9=69: calling me crazy is too much praise; scimunito seems more appropriate. Anyway, yes, I believe it would be perfect among the Gole di Alcantara.

Ajeje, I just explained my criteria to you. Take a look at the last 15/20 I've written and tell me how many 5s you find. I believe that, in most cases, they follow the logic I described to you. Finding one that is completely shareable and agreed upon is impossible. Too bad, I know. But that's how it is. Bye.

@ Enea: I thought about it, but I didn't find any flea. Am I old, do I not understand?

Let's say that if I give a 5, I'm saying: buy it, if it doesn't seem valid to you, it's my fault. When I put a 5, it's as if I'm taking responsibility for any potential purchase you might make, without ifs or buts. Of course, after having read the text. A 4 contains some ifs, a 3 has some buts. Just to make the idea concrete, to monetize it, there you go.
