Bell Orchestre Recording A Tape The Colour Of The Light

My rating for this record would be a 3.5 @Melissa: no, is it serious? Every now and then a bit of Philly's sound... - @Sfascia: Actually, I thought you were the one in touch with the Poet... whatever happened to him? - @Jake and Aunt: if you happen to hear it, I’d be curious to know your opinion - @Contempl/azione: this for example: I stopped by the store to pick up a different record (which wasn’t there) and among the offers, I saw the cover... Anyway, I usually let in an enormous amount of stuff and then, when I can, I sift through it... - @BusterFusillo: the definition of genres makes me laugh a bit, so I’ll take advantage of this... I’ll send you a private message later - @Supersoul: the day before yesterday I met two liquid eyes, from a lady who has seen it all, even older than me. Soon I’ll write a few lines about her record (in the meantime, I’m taking note of Levon Helm. Roy Bingham is nice, but not a 5: like all young folks, you’re an incorrigible enthusiast) and finally @Eneathedevil: what a surprise to find you here: I’m also surprised you liked the first Arcade Fire. A warm welcome back to the lad who left his monumental work on the history of electronic music on hold, much to the dismay of those who had prepaid for the elegant binding in lightweight alloy and zebra leather (yeah, I don’t think you’d like this little orchestra too much) - Kisses

Yes, Paloz, but Alleluhja is his version of L. Cohen's song, which I still prefer in the original. - A good album, but as often happens with heroes (with a tendency towards emphasis and "melodrama," which seems to be his hallmark) who tragically pass away while still young and beautiful, it catalyzes emotional support that far exceeds the actual "value" of the production (as evidenced by the always very moved tones of the countless pages dedicated to him, even in DeB). For me, it's between a 3 and a 4.

Hi, Auntie. I'm very glad that you are not Paolo Rossi; I wouldn't have been able to handle such a disappointment. I have the previous one, which didn't excite me, but it was a nice little disc, indeed. As for Bat For Lashes, I don't share the enthusiasm I read even in DeB (nice, yes, but...) and I haven't even listened to the latest Thurston Moore (should I?). I will, as usual, end up searching for this one too. I can't ignore Auntie's advice, even though sometimes our tastes are veeeery distant.

@Bamboccione: Let me preface by saying that Conte is, for me, a true Great, so I would say yes. I'm talking specifically about interpretative quality. Certain seemingly simple nuances surprised me. But that's obviously a personal opinion. @Primiballi: I don't know, he's definitely dead. But I don't think I'm mistaken and anyway, it's not a problem: I was "old" thirty years ago (and I was 18 then). Are you willing to declare your spring years, lawyer?
Martin Scorsese Mean Streets

For me, it's difficult to express a definitive judgment on this film. I saw it for the first time at the cinema a century ago and then several times, either in theaters or on tape. And time after time, within the seemingly sparse structure, I traced elements of great power and others of weakness, almost a sort of directorial "naivety," that intense yet harsh taste that an unripe fruit has. Without a doubt, a fundamental film in the history of the director, which, as the SuperReviewer aptly states, presents, in a very basic form, the fundamental dichotomy of Scorsese's cinema, between the need for authenticity and experience—therefore the risk of living—and the sense of guilt rooted in Catholicism. De Niro's youth, then, that brazen energy that bursts onto the scene, was for all of us a kind of call of the wild...

Strange record: I don't know if the coordinates you're mentioning are that accurate, I need to listen to it again more closely. I also liked your polaroid.

Mhhh.... the senile premises are more suited to me than to you, and by quite a few years apart, but they don’t lead to the same outcomes. However, I must confess that not long ago I was astonished to find that the best version of "insieme a te non ci sto più" is hers, despite many having tried their hand at it: a perfect interpretation, of great refinement and apparent naturalness, but very careful. She, however, along with her repertoire and overall career, is an excellent example of wasted talent. A few flashes are not enough to make a desert of polished banality shine. Giving her a chance, following your plea, I will see about downloading the album. Cheers and kisses.

Hey, Muffin, is that in your profile an illustration by Carpinteri or am I mistaken?

Hi, Sylvian. I see that you really liked this. I only have Gold, which seemed like a nice disc to me, but far below the expectations set by all the praises it received everywhere. I've listened to other things as well, but it has never fully convinced me. I still have to listen to this one; I have it here in the office... I'll dedicate more attention to it after your endorsement.
