What do I have to say... So a side note: it’s a couple of times I’ve caught you talking about Fun Love Criminals as if appreciating them was a source of shame among you young wild ones. In my opinion, that piece about Barry White is enough to save them from being confused with the tide of clowns they are wrongly associated with. They are (were?) great czzzons, capable of making excellent songs. Wish there were more. Besitos.

Oh no, Purpulan, I dissent and not because of dysentery (but where do these come from? Who is Lino Banfi in comparison?) Queneau and every exercise in style (hedonistic & non) are among the few possible escape routes from this labyrinth of anal/ytic efforts. So let's get to work. Let’s not delay any further; I've been watching you comfortably settled up there in the stands for far too long...

Well, Jake, even more incredible is the fact that, in DeBaser, while reviewing it, they only make a mention of the soundtrack, and WHAT a soundtrack! Anyway, I can agree with the appreciation for highlighting a great film that I revisited a few years ago and have somewhat reassessed, but it remains a great film.

"..never even brushed..." Well, yes, actually, never say never. The very fact that he was among the accredited fathers of the so-called new age had the effect described by Sharunas on me too, but now... - Hi, Jake

Anyway, dating back to Vergessen (not exactly yesterday) my encounter with the sweet Flemish one, I confess a certain fading of passion towards him. Bai bai.

Well, dear Trell, maybe you should have made the effort to read the words that followed as well "..that I listened to." As I was saying, I am no longer a devotee, and I was referring, for example, to Skopos (2003): Flute, Piccolo, Cello, Double Bass, Bassoon, Trumpet, Guitar, Drums, Trombone, Euphonium, Harp, Sax, Piano. - Or to "Partes extra partes" (2006) where he reinterprets, in an orchestral version (him on the piano), many "hits" and some unheard tracks (not unforgettable) - Those last ones, "him, the piano, and that's it," how are they?

@Purpulan: I hope you'll allow me a possibly unwanted interruption, but it's a question I've been pondering for a while, reading your posts, which are always quite sharp and interesting, and now I'm directing it to the person concerned: why don't you write a few pages?
Julian Schnabel Basquiat

Basquiat, despite everything (including this film, which I believe is Schnabel's worst), is a truly significant painter, in my opinion. Lucien Freud, despised by the most radical chic critics who cannot tolerate such a blatant success, is the greatest living painter. His painting has a tangible greatness that even planetary fame cannot overshadow (it seems paradoxical, but it isn't). It is a painting that appears old and static, according to the judgment of enlightened avant-garde critics, but it will always possess a power that transcends fleeting trends and the fraudulent games of the art market.

Regarding Einaudi, I believe I’ve mentioned something about him in other reviews. It’s worth noting that with one of his latest albums ("Una Mattina," I think), he made it to the top of the English sales charts, a rare occurrence for albums that are shelved in the "classical" sections of stores. I own several of his albums, but it’s very, very difficult for them to make it to the player. And those rare occasions, they struggle to stay there until the end...
