P.S. Jack, I forgot to mention an album from 2004 that I highly recommend if you don't know it: Gurdjieff / Tsabropoulos: Chants, Hymns and Dances, where the pianist and cellist Anja Lechner (another name to follow) perform in a previously unreleased transcription the music of Gurdjieff/De Hartmann. In case I find a way to let you "taste" it if you like. The album, of course :))

Well done, Jake. As for the cello, I said all I had to say in a couple of pages a long time ago. Regarding David Darling, I still prefer the subsequent Darkwood to this one, even darker and deeper, still ECM, of course. It remains to be said that, besides our excellent Giovanni Sollima, there are a few names worth following in the "atypical" use of the instrument in border areas between music: the adorable and lamented Arthur Russell, the dynamic Tom Cora, and the refined and eclectic Erik Friedlander (the latter in particular has produced great albums under his own name in recent years and has had many successful collaborations).

Every time Yesterday's Children pops up (that's quite a ride), I can't help but think of the tender Rocky, who should be here, among these comments, and instead, who knows where he's ended up. I'm sending him a kiss from here.

Now I'll look for him. In the meantime, taking a look online, I found her, as a vocalist, on E.L.O. records... Hi, Jake

If I have to listen to this stuff (not bad, huh, and not even so caveman - thanks Megafuzzu) in 2008 I bought myself a wig: long hair to shake while miming the guitar. - P.s. Is "and enough shit" still valid? Well, mucha mierda a todos.

Well, I didn't remember it: I had listened to the album after reading the other review on DeB. And I wasn't thrilled: a decent work (a kind of pop/prog, well played, quite predictable in its development. True about the ups and downs you mention, which can be a bit cloying at times) but clearly, for me, not memorable :)) - Maybe I'll give it another chance. Bye.

I didn't really like them when I listened to them for the first time (back in the Jurassic, I think), and I didn't finish the album even in a more recent attempt. It's a matter of taste, mine being unreliable and erratic. Nice page, don't be modest; saying "leave the reviewing to those who can do it better than me" sounds like bullshit given the DeTempi we’re in. Happy New Year, Ole.

Pleasant reading, as always, but it’s not what I feel like listening to at the moment. I stop by to greet you and wish you a new year the way you would like. Bai.

Everything that can be said can be said clearly. Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent. (L. Wittgenstein, Tractatus logico-philosophicus) If you have to drag those 4 nonsense into it, at least make sure the quotes are correct. So, "the things that are unknown" are better left out - @Ajeje: it's great, let it be. Less "flashy" than others, but meticulously murky. With more layers of meaning. And a phenomenal performance by R. Fiennes. What will you do tonight, dynamite fireworks?
