William Burroughs Strade Morte (The Place of Dead Roads)

It wasn't a comparison, indeed. But, assuming you know Bolano's work (most recently I imagine you mean the second part of 2666, which I recently ordered from my "discount pusher"), I would advise you to prioritize an author you do not know who, in my opinion and not only mine, is among the best to appear in the last few decades in the United States. Anyway, I am one of those who use the overused term "genius" with extreme caution (and thus so rarely that it borders on uselessness): I don't think it's appropriate to spend it on either of them. They remain two great writers who operate personal "revolutions" in their approach to text, even if, evidently, the global recognition of the American's talent perhaps makes (paradoxically) his work less "appealing" than that of the Chilean, known and acknowledged by smaller groups of readers... I would also add that, probably, the sudden and recent death of David F.W. has affected me more than I thought, considering that I am "pleading" his cause in every context and I ended up bothering you too, here on DeB, despite not knowing you. So I apologize for the intrusion, which was spontaneous and will not continue. Bai bai.

With all due respect for Bolano (and "Notturno cileno" in particular)

Put Bolano aside, read Foster Wallace (R.I.P.)

Well, the guy references Moondog and that great album by Shuggie Otis, and I like him even more. It's funny that he's just discovering Zap Mama today (if he really ordered the old records, good for him). I got to know them through Debaser and the reviews of Open Mind and Surfer Kangaroo, and they are among the best "rock" things I've listened to in these years. Bartleboom has a style that makes all his pages enjoyable, even when it comes to questions "...a bit trivial."

P.S. (it has nothing to do with it but) Super, a few nights ago I was listening to Chuck E. Weiss and you came to my mind. Thank you again, because I really like that record.

Forget what I said, Psych, found it... Yes, not bad indeed. I can't find the Opal, not even in "Parting Song For The Torn Sky," unless very, very distantly....

Yes, Carlo. But what is the guy sitting in the armchair listening to right now, redirecting thoughts and headlines too late? Is there any "new" record capable of "saying" anything to him today? P.S. - 100% with you on Lippi and Capello.

Hi, psycho. You know I can't seem to find it? Can you give me an assist?

Supersol, as you say. But precisely because this gathers the beginnings, it would be interesting to give it a listen; it's been ages since I last dug out their vinyl for a spin on the turntable...
