Piero Scaruffi Guida all´Avanguardia e New Age
Voto:
CiaU, Macaco! - Piero is great. And he doesn't understand shit about music. But he knows that, unlike others. - Bringing up Guglielmi means being too young to know or remember how things were when Piero started his work (which is the obsession of an encyclopedic maniac). - Years ago, I asked him to join DeB and accept a "dialectical session" with the users, but I already knew what he would answer: in fact, he refused without hesitation. Too bad, it would have been fun, at least until it all turned into a jumble of self-centered questions/answers from fans (probably almost immediately, then) as tends to happen in every virtual square. - Obviously, Scaruffi's position today is now residual compared to reality; he is a kind of fossil that testifies to the existence of another form of life in popular music and its perception/enjoyment in the 20th century. - And, of course, young people will continue to engage in battles for and against based on his ratings on the charts, often decades old. - P.S. For me, who knew him when we were kids/teens (he was my neighbor about 35 years ago), it was really amusing to discover, decades later, the chaos he created on the web over time. But it didn't surprise me much; he was like that even back then. - Ri ciaU, Macaco!

But these are a "real" orchestra... 18 musicians, I was thinking about a couple of machine manipulators and instead. Judging by the little bits I've just listened to, they sound exactly as Zot says! Thanks for the tip.

Well, "...this album is the best of the Canadian band" is hard for me to say; the other two are excellent as well, just like this one. In fact, perhaps because of the "surprise" effect, I prefer the first. It's interesting that you mention this, not having listened to the earlier ones. However, it’s good and right that you pointed them out in DeB: they are one of the most interesting things I've heard in recent years. Cheers & kisses

I'm listening to it now. It had been years since I last listened to it, years since I thought about the heartbreaking, disorienting beauty of the lyrics. Hello, Macaco.

Hi Il Freddo. Well, I actually don't think he has ever made any real crap: I remember this one fondly, I even managed to tolerate the presence of Ethan Hawke, who is usually repulsive to me. Last night on TV (Rai Movie), "Jack Goes Boating" aired, the film Hoffman directed in 2010. Not bad, although a bit depressing. Have you seen it?

Please, dear editors, can you remind me of my emails since I can't remember them anymore? Good thing I passed by here! However, I have a doubt: have you read them all and do you remember them well? Because there is a certain Luana who wrote some beautiful ones to me... Thank you in advance and best regards.
