Well, Del Piero deserved applause: he illuminated the gloom of the dim Franchi. As for the greatness of Vangelis, well, perhaps ZiOne is not entirely wrong. From a stylistic standpoint, he hasn't been seminal for any genre: he simply exploited, with great mastery, all the best legacies of minimalism, electronic, free jazz, and new age of his time through high-level collages. Through all this, he probably invented not a style, but a genre: film score music, which, among other things, is only one aspect of his vast body of work; he invented it in the sense of making it accessible and recognizable through well-defined canons: in this regard, "Antarctica" is a remarkable example, just to mention one. In any case, he is not an artist who deserves such oblivion, merits or demerits aside.

How nice to see those old reviews of Grass with Vanamente chasing him, saying he didn't write with paffffffione :D

In order of appearance: regarding the question of didacticism mentioned by Trella, Josie, and Grass, I must say that obviously everything is true, a review that I felt obligated to write was didactic in nature to introduce a character who has curiously never been reviewed on Debaser. The problem may be that the music is better known than the author, as mentioned, or a bit of belittlement towards a musician considered good - mistakenly - only for the soundtracks, and a bit of this and that... in short, this knowledgeable author has never been talked about. Therefore, it needed to be introduced from an exegetical point of view. Josie notes that I could talk more about the music: well, yes, perhaps so, but these tracks, more or less, we all know them, even if inadvertently, and the collection itself does not introduce too many musical elements to discuss. Perhaps there’s more to elaborate on regarding the entire "Apocalypse" or other major works like "Heaven and Hell," which I will, by the way, commit to doing. Once the character is introduced, then, we can return to the usual healthy nonsense of routine. :D

Alright, enough guys, I’m signing off because this afternoon in Piazza S.Oliva there’s the gathering of bisexual students from Palermo. I’m going with the camera, you never know if I might find someone a bit "undecided." I'll help them decide, if anything. Kisses to everyone, kyssys.
