Without taking anything away from Tortoise, especially since a direct comparison is impossible, I prefer remnants of a deeper purity instead. It may not have invented as much as this, but it's a stunning album, with its decadent atmospheres. Rosenthal, a legend.

The darkness, the darkness excites me, which is what I like about Bricolage, an extraordinary nocturnal, psychedelic album that I actually prefer to the virtuosic works of Squarepusher or DJ Shadow, who create more complex things, practically fusion with d'n'b patterns. Goldie nin zo. After reading Scaruffo, I also got Spring Heel Jack and I find them monumental. Thanks for the tips, after those on hip hop, these on drum'n'bass as well...you are a beacon in the night.
