Well, John Cage went to "Lascia o Raddoppia" (it's true, and not as a music expert but as a mycologist).

Here's the cultural aspect of Spears that attracts me the most. But your point seems to be whether you were joking or not. Anyway, I'm sorry, but who are your favorite Italian musicians, just to get an idea?

Ehm, as Caz rightly said, there are also people like Pink Floyd that I listen to. It feels wrong to bring up the story of the 180 million copies sold every time, but even if they had sold only 10 copies, I wouldn’t care; I listen to the music and try to form the most personal opinion possible, regardless of sales numbers. There are great artists who have sold (see above), there are sometimes even greater artists who haven’t sold anything at all. And if I listen to Britney Spears, I listen to everyone except her: she is just an image with a staff behind her, who writes the songs, who does the arrangements, who produces, and these are people who know their craft, but it’s music that serves no purpose, it has no heart, it’s cheesy and trendy and has the serious aggravating factor of being made solely and exclusively to sell. Britney Spears is famous for her lolita image, not for her artistic talents which are NON-EXISTENT and her even more NON-EXISTENT intellectual capabilities. And I don’t call her a slut to avoid offending the category.

For me, Eno's gesture is brilliant; it explains the artwork to those who view art as an elevated concept disconnected from the world, while it is primarily communication. Rather than calling it vandalism, I would refer to it as a tribute to the artist, and I'm being completely serious.

No, it’s not fair that niche groups are niche. But maybe that's just how things go and how they have to go... In the charts, it’s always the simplest music that makes it, the one that requires the least effort, the smartest, or the most rhetorical and ingratiating in some cases. I, who did not grow up idolizing the winner, keep listening to my little-known bands, who often couldn’t care less about hitting the charts (maybe I quoted that wrong), while you keep listening to Liga, convinced that he sells because he’s better. Just remember that he’s not as good as Britney Spears, Blue, N'Sync, Christina Aguilera, Ramazzotti, Pausini...

Francesco Guccini D'amore di morte e di altre sciocchezze

Mollica has praised characters far worse than Morandi; truly, that man has no shame. Just like a Castaldo from Repubblica, who is another one I can't stand much. My comment was based on the fact that I noticed the very high ratings: for instance, specifically for the "room for maneuver" that I talk about, I reserved only a 1 for insufficiencies and the other ratings to have a wider range of possibilities. But if I'm the only one thinking this way, it doesn't really help, does it? Then I would be curious to know one thing: I might be mistaken, but in my opinion, out of 3379 reviews, more than a thousand have a rating of 5/5. But anyway, words in the wind. As for Guccini, I don't think he has much of a musical reason to exist, and he himself says he limits himself to gluing music to lyrics, unlike, for example, de André. Personally, I think his last good album is Signora Bovary; here, Canzone della colomba e del fiore, Il caduto, and Il matto are just simple fillers. Fantasizing, I have always wondered what a collaboration between him and Tom Waits could have been like, him so connected to the world of taverns and late hours...

I know many bands that are more technical and have more time changes in their songs, and some of these I like; the time changes don’t throw me into a crisis, that's not it.
