Francesco Guccini Fra la via Emilia e il West

mmm... I don’t know, I prefer the more intimate Guccio; for me, his environment is the osteria rather than the big concert. I can’t stand the raised fist, and you made a wrong example with the locomotive: he himself said it shouldn’t be read politically, but rather as a snapshot of history: I’m not very fond of the raised fist, today it’s an absolutely empty gesture.

Even if you admit yourself that you don't talk much about the album, I liked you a lot, beautiful storytelling. After Inge's review, do you want me to vote again as well? I also have an immense love for the cello, a wonderful instrument: I was surprised to know that you like it darling; I thought you didn't like new age!

Good job, Grass. Yes, one of the best by Guccini. After the '70s triad of Radici, Stanze, Via Paolo Fabbri, this is definitely the best album of the '80s and '90s for me, even though I also really like Metropolis. In my opinion, this is Guccini’s musically best album; the arrangements are well-crafted without being intrusive. Pierfarri had left by this time, right? Nothing to tear your hair out over, but for example, the atmosphere of "Le piogge d'aprile" is finally something original. I agree about the closing of Scirocco, truly beautiful and moving, but there are many memorable lines on this record: you mention "esistenza che stai qui di contrabbando...", I reply "ogni età chiude in sè i crismi dello sbando". Speaking of sad phrases, the piece by Keaton where he leaves the hospital and says "ed esco fuori con i miei giornali, e non ho voglia di ridere per niente..." is very sad. Guccini is the quintessential author of sad songs in Italy, much more so than De André or De Gregori, and I say this knowing the entire discography of all three, huh. I agree with Rasputin recommending Via Paolo Fabbri; it’s the best entry to Guccini’s world, but when it comes to sadness, I can't help but mention "Stanze di vita quotidiana," the one that Bertoncelli tore apart, which is probably the saddest and most depressed album ever made in Italy. If De André is the singer of the humble and De Gregori the specialist of the "canzone ermetica," Guccini is undoubtedly the most existentialist.

The Acid Mothers Temple is a nice point of reference, but for now I don't know them; I'll make a note of them in my planner.

No, mùn scaruffo is for Trout Mask, you saved yourself, in case the failures are me and precisely. It's just that when he doesn't say things out of bias, Scaruffi has really good taste... safe is much more normal also because of Cooder, but sure 'nuff'n ye I do or electricity are pearls, of course a piece like I'm glad I really didn't expect from the captain...

Ah! I miss metal music machine, I've never found such inner strength to face it. A friend wanted to lend it to me (with a sly little smile) and I, being scared, declined the offer. Jokes aside, this by Red Crayola isn't that extreme for me; if you're into psychedelia, it totally makes sense. I was surprised by Caz, who's openly psychedelic, in fact :)

I'll take it, I have the neuro just a step away, if you tell me that to get there we need the swans then I'll go because I've devoured the first records, not sentimental stuff like children of god! I don't know Josi's wild card, at this point as a brain-dead person I feel compelled to dig deeper. We could do an alternate Sanremo with these people, special guest Diamanda Galas who tears her throat out and then we have everyone :)

I knew I was strange, I really enjoy trout and have a lot of fun listening to it; for me, crayola is heavier. But come on, the Germans are the most brick-like of all. Between Faust and Neu! Schulze, compared to Capitan Scureggia, that’s an easy listen! Ah, the unbeatable super brick for me is that of Royal Trux. Wow. In comparison, these groups are melodic...

Trell, so you're really an expert! I've never heard of this Tullamore... Inge, I replied to you.
