All the Miles albums I know are almost all gold, this one I'm missing. This time you made a brave choice, I'm curious to hear what others have to say about this record.

Don't make me choose, Jim, but it's clear that Ghostly has what it takes. It has nothing to do with it, but LUUUUK! You need to include Josi's comment in the report, the one that goes "Once I listened to Edoardo Bennato: I died the next day."

Well, Grass, let's say it's an all-Italian trend, with few exceptions (Capossela, De Andrè, Battiato, Conte being the first ones that come to mind), to prioritize content at the expense of music. Abroad, it seems to me that many singer-songwriters give equal emphasis to music. Guccini (like Gaber, for example), although I know you don't agree, is for me an absolutely mediocre musician. This doesn't detract from the charm of songs like Amerigo, which lies precisely in that verbosity. Another thing, since we’re on the topic of Guccini: he is the humblest person in the world, but when he writes, he often shows off as well, and he often takes pleasure in it, no point in denying it :)

"I would really like to see him indulge a bit more in the content aspect"... I don't quite understand what you mean by this sentence. "?" :)

Enè, it has nothing to do with it, and I know that Guccini admires the Nomadi for some reason (he also admires Morandi, Ligabue, and Celentano, but let’s not go there), but seeing that group associated with the singer-songwriter hurts me. It’s understandable that Guccini can sometimes be less biting, but he hasn't only done Dio è morto, il Sociale e l'antisociale, or Canzone per un'amica. What a terrible comparison, Guccini and the Nomadi. Adieu.
