Dear Marco, you have an easy time asking me "tell me the universal law," given that a multitude of different factors come into play when trying to define what is more complex and interesting, and it's very difficult to explain it. However, differences in value do exist; otherwise, if we couldn't make aesthetic distinctions, Beethoven and Dj Francesco would be on the same level: pushing subjectivism to the extreme leads us there. "Why should Beethoven be better than Dj Francesco?" Following your reasoning, this would be a legitimate question. Now, I could elaborate, but I'm afraid of endless monologues, so it’s really best that I self-censor. I'll just say two things (which contradict each other; I'll leave it to you to draw conclusions): you say that only mathematics is objective, and that everything else would be metaphysical musings. However, Leibniz said that "Music is counting with the mind without knowing that you are counting." Music is mathematics; there are musicians who use mathematical equations to compose. There’s even a musical genre called "math rock." But you know what’s beautiful? You can't know if mathematics itself is infallible (objective): because one day, a certain Mr. Gödel came up with his "incompleteness theorem." Take a look at it; it's quite interesting. And the implications are fascinating.

It's easy to make some easy irony, but I won't do that. Because I have it. With a better cover, by the way: Ingrandisci questa immagine
I can't wrap my head around why it has to be sung like this; it sounds like the game of "Garibaldi was wounded" sung with only one vowel ("garabalda fa farata fa farata ad ana gamba"). Cannibal Corpse does it with the "u." Basically, "What you gonna be, what you gonna be brother
Zero the hero" becomes "ut u gunnu bu ut iu gunnu bu bruthur, zuru du uru." But... why?
Don Caballero Singles Breaking Up

this is the only one I'm missing. I can say that What burns that you didn't mention (shame on you!) has nothing to envy to For respect and 2? In fact, in my opinion, there's one of their absolute best tracks, "Don Caballero 3". Since I was talking about guitarists, it would be great if fans of Satriani and company checked out the Don's albums to see another conception of music (equally virtuosic, by the way).

Everyone listens to what they want, and everyone lets themselves be influenced by what they choose from Giuliano Ferrar... um, I meant Malmsteen, even though the callus on his back can't be pleasant to look at. I like Hendrix, but I have always found playing the guitar with your teeth and behind your back to be a bunch of nonsense, and so what if I don’t contextualize it.

In my opinion, the three gentlemen in question are all pretty much useless. I’m not a fan of Satriani, but usually he controls himself quite well. Here, since he has to show that he’s not to be outdone, he adapts and plays some tricks. A real drag. Steve Vai: he enters shouting "here come the clowns" with an extremely useful three-necked guitar, and treats us to a series of facial techniques that deserve quite a few slaps. A mercy veil over the little theater with Sheehan and McAlpine, where the only question I asked myself was "what the hell are these three idiots doing?". Then silhouette Malmsteen arrives, and after irritating his skin by spending half the time with the guitar trick behind his back, I must say he delivers a performance of great music, but utterly massacres Hendrix with a version of astronomical ugliness. That’s pretty much my thought on this G3.

Anyway, the essence of the matter is that on Debaser you don't rely on the stars at the top. And often not even on the review, but on the comments of people you know and whose tastes you understand. Now, I know what Jim listens to, and I know very well what Zion listens to. Maybe someone knows what I listen to. Why beat around the bush? Better to have a straightforward judgment, right?

It makes me smile this theory that often on Debaser, if someone doesn't appreciate something (or worse), it's because they understand nothing. Especially regarding ultra-technical metal-prog bands and axeman pretenders, the argument used is "if you don't play, shut up." It's like saying that to say a movie sucks, I must first have executed a side cart at least once, and to say an actor is expressionless, I must have gone to the Actor's Studio. Then probably to say there's an offside, I must be a certified referee, or to say that Adriano is playing poorly, I must be able to juggle oranges like Maradona.

It's a great album, but I haven't played it in a while. In the other review, I gave it five, but now I'm more inclined towards four; there are things I like more. However, I completely disagree with the discussion about critics, and it really seems like a cliché to me. There are music critics who are also great musicians.
