"The historic song that still perfectly reminds us of them today is 'Big in Japan,' the first track of the twenty-one proposed here... twenty-one? Weren't there fifteen?? Perhaps here, too..."

So I'm not the only one who likes Alphaville!!! Maybe you exaggerate in some points (for example when you say "the success seemed to never fade": maybe, after this collection they were almost forgotten, and even at that time they weren't exactly thriving...) but everything seems necessary to finally exalt this remarkable band...great job then! PS: any recommendations for their single albums? Which ones do you prefer if you know them? For instance, I've heard about "Prostitute," from 1994...

As usual, sorry for the mistakes, like lo-fi, "the majority of debaseriani," "accepted in the CD players of the listeners"... well, it’s clear I’m not used to this...

charles = one of the four redeemable interventions on the page. PS: thanks Soc for the solidarity and serestoppone....you give up too soon in discussions, it would have been nice to keep reading what you had to say, even if others don’t like this kind of stuff and/or this group and/or this album. And it annoys me that the majority of debaserians consider Blur only from the self-titled album of 1997, when they jumped on the American lo-fi bandwagon: it's like, as long as it was pure British music you found it disgusting, but once they started to (divinely) imitate the Americans, then...you started to like them...as if Pearl Jam had to make, I don’t know, an album with Britpop influences after Vitalogy to finally be accepted by readers of Americanophobic listeners...anyway, for any clarification on some of the trivial issues raised, I can refer you to my review from a year ago on WEEZER (not coincidentally dedicated to francis and in this case also to you....). One year later, same beach same sea.....

more than anything, it seems made more for work than for fun... a stylistic exercise... and there’s no reason for it since here everything is done solely and exclusively out of passion... but it’s not terrible as spaccazucche thinks... you will improve! better my piece on Casa Babylon though... :))))

Francis, this review was made for you...aren't you happy? You'll see, you'll wear the Pradas, not the Blur...anyway, even if you replied shooting them around as you usually like to do...the only grain of truth about the album comes from your third comment. Punisher intimidated when it's others who punish, but he was saying some right things...

I'm bitter, there's a lot of dullness to probe in this site... it feels like I've gone back a year to the time of the review of Demon Days by the Gorillaz. The only one who stands out is Quertzy, who rightly listened, judged, and didn't like it. But I think many, too many, are completely immersed in the dear "stereotypes" that Blur talk about right at the beginning of the album. I mean, comparing a satire of a society to its celebration is like comparing Beppe Grillo to Berlusconi. I'm still happy, because I know that when I decide to write a review on this album, it will be the first real serious review. PS: Nobody Else by Take That is the North South West East of Britain (rating for the album 4.5)

great, but let’s not underestimate prelude (my favorite) and the subsequent discog (like knights of fantasy)...I guess I’ll have to dive into this GTA as well, who knows what I might discover...see you soon and congrats

and for all the mistakes, the letters I skip in every sentence due to haste...sorry!...I even skipped those...

Sorry Jim, I replied in a hurry, I didn’t spend much time thinking about how Jim died, the gist was that one of the two groups faced a career break - due to the lead singer's premature death under more or less mysterious circumstances - while for the other, things went differently. Debaser, however, doesn't need saints, just a desire to discuss music. And certainly not to reduce it to mere GOSSIP like so often happens. Sometimes the conversation reads like a tale from novella 2000 on these pages, especially in the first part of this... what hasn’t been understood yet is this: we are like in an ice cream parlor, with many flavors, and we know we’re talking about good tastes, each made with its own suitable ingredient, the stracciatella with dark chocolate, vanilla with fresh eggs, etc. No one here has a calippo fizz (dj Francesco) or a penny market cup (a solo Gary Barlow?), we are talking about <rationally> appealing things. But everyone can have their own preferences. You’re arguing because Francis told you that cocoa mousse is terrible. And down come all the insults from the cocoa mousse lovers. Instead, they could say, wait a bit, let me taste it again more carefully, and I’ll let you know... and then say “look, you know what, you’re right, it’s not as good as I thought” or “you can think whatever you want, but I’ve pondered it and I love it even more.” Want my opinion on all this? Well, I like all flavors. As long as they’re good. (And don’t compare fruit flavors to cocoa ones, just enjoy both). Happy snacking everyone!
