I don't at all share the reviewer’s superficiality. Nirvana and Cobain were certainly also a cultural phenomenon, just like any band touched by popularity: from Elvis to the Beatles, the Stones, and all the way to today’s boy bands. As for artistic qualities, while they may not be exceptional, it remains to be said that Cobain's guitar playing was not exactly genius, but quite personal: so much so that this cliché has made the fortune of many (often mediocre) imitators (I name a few at random: Bush, Stone Temple Pilots, Staind, Creed... should I go on?). For sure, he was the best melody composer of the whole grunge mishmash. I won't comment on the artistic value of this album, mainly decided by an agreement among the lawyers of Courtney Love, Novoselic, and Grohl. And remember that respect is necessary when there’s a dead person involved.

I know that a while ago an English newspaper gave ample space to photos of Syd Barrett: as far as I remember, he is completely bald and somewhat overweight. They were telling (I believe) that he still lived with his mother. The review is just a vent and nothing more; it's clear that you think they suck, but why? In two or three years they'll probably be forgotten, and that might very well be true (it took much less for me).
