If the topic interests you, there's a nice book by Michael Azerrad on the subject, titled "This Band Could Be Your Life": all about Husker Dü, Minutemen, Black Flag, Dinosaur Jr, and many others. Just in case you haven't read it yet, you know.

A poorly written review full of mistakes, already largely highlighted by those who commented before me. IMHO this is the best album by the Pumpkins, though I couldn't say what place it holds in the history of rock.
