<quote>How beautiful music is, the feeling it gives you when you hear concerts..." "Yeah, you meet people, you talk to them; yes, you meet people, you talk to them; you meet people, you talk to them; you meet people, you talk to them; you pay for the ticket, you get to know the performers, you meet people, you talk to them; BUT YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE HEARING! HOW COULD YOU? these are not the right places for sound, they are areas filled with smoke (it feels like being in Milan), mandatory purchases (I'm not thirsty), overpriced tickets, forgettable characters, chronic political activists, applause, screams, cheers, insults, vomiting your soul, too much whiskey, in these places, people will do anything to avoid the embarrassment of silence, LISTENING TO THE BAND PLAYING NOW IS THE LAST THING YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR? "I mean, the concert is too beautiful, it's a unique moment, the stage, the audience, all sweaty and stuck together, we jump, we mosh, we ask for autographs, stage diving, Heineken, Coca Cola, Marshall, we sing, we dance, we go home exhausted (...) ah, the concert was amazing, there were a lot of people, everyone was dancing, so there was a great feeling between the band and the audience" WE ARE A SHITTY BAND BECAUSE WHEN WE PLAY, NOBODY DANCES AND NOBODY AGREES WITH WHAT WE SAY! <end quote>

Mark Lanegan I'll Take Care Of You

@Pelican, are you sure that Whiskey is from '92? It seems to me it’s from '94; in '92, Sweet Oblivion by the Screaming Trees was released (if I remember correctly). Really beautiful album, with Carry Home and Shiloh Town above all.

I know they are the favorites of many music critics, I had their b-sides cd which didn't quite convince me, but maybe it wasn’t the best way to approach them. The review is very nice.

5 for the link that breaks the budella, rather, empties the budella
dEUS Vantage Point

I was writing it too, but in the end it was difficult to put together sentences and syntax for a predictable and straightforward album (except in stores, for those interested in buying it). For those who remember dEUS from ten years ago and compare them to the current version (in which Barman has the first and last word on everything, while the others are just supporting characters: take a showman like Pawlowski, who here is little more than a session musician), the comparison can only be unfavorable to the latter. That said, the album isn't bad in an absolute sense, and those approaching dEUS for the first time might enjoy it, quite a lot even.

From what I’ve read, the characters' (self)irony completely escaped you, just like the (not so subtle) critique of their experiences and ideas.
