If Benedetto Inverno finds out, it's a mess! Let's just agree on reviews that we’re sure he will never read! ;)

With all the excitement, my stapler got stuck. What’s that got to do with anything, you might ask? It has everything to do with it; all this commotion has thrown me off balance. Alright then, let’s go for the tea, thank you!

Koopa, be careful about declaring certain things around, if Maledetta Primavera and Benedetto Inverno find out, I have a cross relationship with 2 of 4 brothers, it’s gonna be trouble!!! ;)

Alright. For those who don't know who Jenna Jemson is and don't feel like googling, they can buy this month's Rolling Stone and find out what Marilyn Manson is like in bed... Bruce Willis instead left her hanging.

I completely agree with Koopa. There are critics who embody "the other" aspect of an artist and are the medium through which genius can manifest itself (the true critic is a protector, not a denigrator), then there are the tradesmen or the critics who are journalists, but these are perhaps the less noble aspects (it still depends on who practices it) of the actual profession of criticism.

Exactly, Emily, what I have maintained so far. I agree.

"No artist worth their salt has a completely clear idea of what they are doing. It’s only the critics who BELIEVE they have it all figured out." I disagree. Genius and recklessness, madness and talent are pairs that often go hand in hand, but don’t be fooled. Even the madness of Salvador Dalí was not a wasted effort. Dalí was perfectly aware of what he was doing; it was others who couldn’t understand. But Dalí, in this case Battisti, was the artist. I want to make it clear that I am not a critic, and no one here seems to be one either, but your judgment is entirely superficial. Personal opinion, of course.

Considering the hypothesis "he didn't even know what he was doing" seems to me a great act of presumption. It's like saying: yes, he knew his trade because he wrote music, which, after all, he also enjoyed and did for almost 30 years, but he was a bit obtuse, so he didn’t really know what he was doing.
