You know what’s funny: Dominique turns 47, Jordan turns 63, and many others are just racking them up.. but then he drops the three right in their faces, steals the ball from Isiah Thomas with 3 seconds left, and scores the game-winning basket (also a three, if I’m not mistaken)! Come on, avoid the enticing synonyms like childish originality... that's just mannerism! I'm not saying every single movement is manneristic, but certain passages (even from Doolittle) seem a bit STANDARd to me... how would you define those bass intros all in 4/4?
No, look, technically they are quite insignificant... and I'm not talking about speed (that's just one aspect of technique)... If you think about it, what you call childish originality is precisely due to such shortcomings! That said, if there were more bands with that indie attitude and the willingness to modulate between genres like the Pixies, it would definitely be a good thing!!!
