What a challenge among the enlightened, that between Baustelle and Bluvertigo... Morgan is a poor idiot, a phony intellectual (and indeed he spouts a ton of nonsense every time he opens his mouth... for him, Waters is the singer of Pink Floyd...) and he could easily end up among the sheep... for next year, Ventura has opted for the one from Baustelle... just for the sake of fairness!

BILL FRISELL is eclectic... there you go, he really is, and a lot too...

If it wasn’t clear, they’re definitely good, very eclectic too, but with a certain mannerism... for me, Zappa was eclectic, Mr. Bungle are, Zorn too, not them for sure... or at least not in the way many praise them.

Of course Stoney, it’s clear, it just seems a bit unfair to them... a bit of modesty would help a lot of people, and anyway it seems exaggerated to say, as many do, that they’re worth nothing... even today, I find Images & Words but especially Awake (for the atmosphere created by Moore) excellent... even though both albums have their moments of weakness... let’s forget about Queen, I’ve never liked them... even though I admit they’ve written some great tracks... come on Don, Doolittle is a great album (even if it’s a long way from my tastes, I can understand why it might appeal), but those 4/4 bass intros that you find EVERYWHERE are just awful... what innocent purity and childishness... there’s a limit to everything... if I found bass lines like that in an unknown band, I’m sure you’d think the bassist would be MUCH better off tilling the land... the same attitude that DT fans have, PIXIES fans have on this site... Francis came out with the nonsense that ā€œthe intriguing thing about the Pixies is that they SOUND as if they don’t know how to play and that they don’t care about the sound... but it’s the oppositeā€: and that’s really foolish (I’M CLEAR, I’M NOT DOWNGRADING THE VALUE OF THE ALBUM AND THE BAND, EVEN IF I REITERATE I DON’T LIKE THEM MUCH... ONLY THAT HONESTLY, THEY AREN’T GREAT AS MUSICIANS, AND I REPEAT, IN DOOLITTLE THERE’S MANIERISM IN DROVES, DUE TO A LACK OF TECHNICAL SKILL... great at drawing from all genres, a bit less in reworking it due to lack of technique)... I hope I made myself clear...

I'll tell you one thing, you are the first, THE FIRST, who truly explains what the problem is with the DTs, much, much better than Easy did in his review of Scenes (hehe, he hates them regardless; they could write one wonderful song and for him it would be garbage)... the problem is precisely the silly fanaticism that surrounds them and that they (unfortunately) often encourage, but it’s also true that this happens more or less with all bands... I heard someone say that the TEDIOUSLY BORING BASS INTROS ALL THE SAME OF THE PIXIES IN DOOLITTLE SPARKLED INNOCENT PURITY AND CHILDISHNESS... WELL.

Anyway, I was talking about what you said about the FW... and they have very little in terms of standards and flair...

I really appreciate that you responded in such a straightforward way... the things you write are partly true, but partly just the usual list of clichés about DT... by the way, I took the reference from what you said about Fates Warning, so I was talking about FW and they are far from DT or their typical excesses... up to a point, what you say is shareable, but those are things that even the walls know by now! Now let me ask you a question so you can answer it yourself: do you really think DT needs to make collages? I don't think so at all, and their excesses are (unfortunately) part of who they are! As for the fact that they've never had anything to say, go tell that to the millions of people who follow them, including numerous musicians: maybe they have communicated something to them... clearly, I'm not making a sales argument, and I reiterate that I'm not crazy about them... a thousand times better for me are Alice in Chains... but tearing them down so bluntly has always been the trend on Debaser...

Hi handsome, always on time like a clock.... I don’t know him well, but his name has always echoed... I’ll have to remedy that!
