John Frusciante Inside Of Emptiness

I completely disagree. Besides the fact that I immediately said that if he had made just one CD with the best of the 6, it would have been a masterpiece, the whole "sides" story doesn't hold: in each of the 6 you can see many facets, and he knew very well that his fans would buy them all (like I did, for example)... I repeat, I don't mind at all having spent all that money, but I know I supported a commercial operation, and you can't deny that!

Commercial... Well, how do you explain the decision to release 6 CDs in 6 months? Sure, it's not commercial in the sense of going to trl or top of the pops, but it smells a bit... not that I mind buying John’s CDs anyway!

And then sorry Punisher, but how come you gave 4 to the album (comment on matt7's review) and here you give it 2? I get that when you gave that score the CD hadn't been released yet, but then why did you change your mind?

This album is truly beautiful, I completely disagree with the rating.

Let's put it this way: for the past few years, the songs they propose are roughly those on the latest compilation... So you're right (the "heavy" tracks are 5-6), but still, the energy comes not only from the songs but also, for example, from the presence. Regarding the latest single, "Dani California," I have to say that I like it, even if it's certainly not a new "Suck My Kiss"!

Okay, you're right, but you can't say that their concerts aren't great now: I saw them at HJF in 2002 when they presented "By The Way," and trust me, they've still got plenty of energy! It's true that they were crazy back in the '90s, but you can't expect them to still be reckless drugged-up idiots at 40, can you?
