But now it's Friday night, go to women, drop the movies, the computer, the music. Drop everything, go for PUSSY. WHAT THE HELL. ;)

Bruce Lee & Sonny Chiba (who is none other than the one who wields the swords in Kill Bill), all their films. Watch them, but I don't know how much you'll like them, it's True stuff.

But they are not Tarantinated, that's the problem. That's not his stuff; that's stuff he uses, but applying certain things in a film like Pulp Fiction is one thing, applying them in a kung fu film is another. And then, even if he said it was like that, it still remains a load of crap. So, when he makes a statement on MTV and says, "we made a shitty record, as usual," do you buy it just because he said it first? ;) Sure, I wouldn’t call him a fool for saying it first, that’s true. If I had gone to see it without knowing I’d find all that stuff, I would have screamed scandal. But it remains a film of Remixed Covers, and it should be taken as such. I can understand how you might have liked it if you haven’t seen the originals. I also saw Snatch and said, “Holy shit!”... then I saw Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels... and Snatch turned into crap :D

Akarma, may it always be praised, redoes everything exactly like the original; can you imagine? The damned thing is a square digipack, designed to replicate the proportions of vinyl. It’s also quite convenient because you can spot it immediately, given that it sticks out two extra centimeters from the stack of CDs :D. They even did Vincebus Eruptum with the Philips logo in the top left corner, which was only found on the very first pressing. / Once Upon Time In China... it inspires me; I’ll definitely check it out.

Beautiful Iko. Poddosky, when I saw Kill Bill, all I could say was "man... damn, this is Chen!" "man... damn, this is Samurai!" "man... damn, SONNY CHIBA!!!" I knew there were some references, but it's fine one, two, three, 30 references, but that's all one big reference, and what a drag, everything calls back to an old kung fu movie. It could also be seen as a stroke of genius. I didn't like it. In fact, it really made me sick. The others, all amazing, Kill Bill, crap.

Well, I have a bit of an issue with solo piano concerts because when I was little I practically only listened to that, at most piano + drums played with the "whip" (what's it called? I mean the one like "flagellum") and on rare occasions I could hear a double bass every now and then; my dad didn't put more than that in the house. If we're talking about jazz with at least 3 musicians playing, then bring it on. Like in Cobham+Carter's Live in Tokyo when there are three minutes of Baron’s "solo" – I don’t mind that at all, but it’s mitigated; ALL PIANO ONLY PIANO kills me, maybe a little further down the line. Oh, it’s the same for all instruments, one instrument alone, it annoys the hell out of me, always :)// Anyway, kudos to Giov's dad who also has City Sound; that copy should be worth quite a bit, you know? It has never been repressed; I only have it in mp3. Maybe, Giov, a nice little stick on eBay, and when he comes back from Germany if he notices it's missing you can act clueless...
