No Nick, I’m not buying them, I’m asking Josi... that INDIE Rock genre doesn't attract me at all. Another thing that doesn't attract me at all is the fact that you like them, because as you well know, if I like something, you think it’s crap. I’d like to listen to them just to try to understand why you all like this stuff and I think it’s crap... But the good thing is that one day we could open a record shop combining our collections, Nick, since we would only have duplicates of dEUS and a few others (VERY few), I'll take care of the Prog section, you take care of the emo-lagna! ;)))

Ah Zaire... can you break down the components for me one by one? All I know is that there's Jackson, and it's not easy to find info on them :D

I'm Zaire, but the one from 2004 left me a bit confused; I prefer the first one, which is from 2002 or maybe 2003—I can't remember now, but it’s still very recent. They passed it to me describing it as "David Jackson & Amichetti," but I think they are much more than just a side project of the former Van Der Graaf... the first one is a solid 4.5, and the second one is 4 or less. If these albums had come out 20 years ago, we would have cried masterpiece, yet in 2003 they feel a bit like "famoje vedè che semo troppo progg regà." Just keep in mind that I still have to explore all the 70s prog, so maybe I'm still dazzled by the charm of the earlier stuff to be able to see well what’s good in the new ones... anyway, they’re a great band, review them; that’s music for de-baser, especially since they are current, and it would be a shame to miss them while searching for old gems like this one (well, you can still find this at the butcher's, but with bands like Van Der Graaf, you have to work a bit to find the copies).

Strangler... you have enlightened me... economics and sociology, played on the football team, and acted in school plays. Upon graduation, he became a radio sports announcer. A screen test in 1937 won him a contract in Hollywood. During the next two decades he appeared in 53 films. From his first marriage to actress Jane Wyman, he had two children, Maureen and Michael. Maureen passed away in 2001. In 1952 he married Nancy Davis, who was also an actress, and they had two children, Patricia Ann and Ronald Prescott.

With Snailking, their second full-length release, Ufomammut continue to blow minds with their own unique brand of psychedelic sludge. With long songs, droning vocals, and massive effects, Ufomammut stands alongside Neurosis, Sons of Otis, and Electric Wizard. Ufomammut is thick, swirling, punishing sludge—over-indulging in fuzz and psychedelics. This 8-song album represents the best in this subcategory of Stoner/Doom. Lots of guitar tracks, echoplex style delay, samples, and synth all the way through. A real moody trip from beginning to end. Snailking was recorded in the backwoods of Italy’s mountains over a period of 4 weeks. The band holed themselves up in seclusion and let the creativity flow! The result is monumental! Highly recommended!<---- Finished. Since I’m not the only idiot saying that they SPAAAAAAAAACCANO.

AMATEUR REVIEWS OF SNAILKING ---> Accolades for Snailking Full on psychedelia laced with enough doom to make you wonder: this is the album that Electric Wizard didn't make. Vocal sounds bordering on Filth Pig era Jourgenson (Ministry) meets Electric Wizard. The jams infused with slabs of mountainous riffage that start from the opening track and don't let up. The production is stunning and will leave your head spinning. The sounds wander aimlessly through your head, as the ultimate stoner doom album transcends the mind. This IS what stoner rock is all about, folks. Well worth the wait. //// c.troutman StonerRock.com Snailking’s 8 songs are about intertwining crushing noise and dead space. A riff can float off on its own, while another one builds up underneath the distortion. Impressive stuff, in the vein of Sons of Otis, Buried at Sea, or latter-day Electric Wizard. Their use of keyboards and sound samples (such as the Grim Reaper from Monty Python’s Meaning of Life) adds to the overall mood of the album. There’s not a wasted note, nor a weak track. They know when to ride the note, when to create a wall of sound, or when to layer the effects. It’s doom, it’s sludge, it’s full on metal. Like Yob’s releases, Snailking’s original and catchy work by a band worth keeping an eye on. Highly recommended. ///

But now that I remember, are Sunn O)))... Sunn O[lettera])))) or are they Sunn 0[ZERO])))? It’s a cosmic question that has tormented my existence for years... damn! However, since the three parentheses represent "the sound wave," it could be that the O is just the Marshall... God help me.
