I'm always waiting for them to make a Dolby Surround album for 7.1 where you have to sit in the center of the speakers and guess where the plin-plin is coming from, and where the bum-bum is.

I've been hearing "new sounds" for so long that they're now as old as dirt. If they made a House album at 110 bpm with French Tunnn-Stà, then it would really be a case of "WOW, THE AUTECHRE HAVE AMAZED US AGAIN."

Instead, after so much amazement, now the effect is "wow, this is so well-produced" - "good lord, this sound was created by layering grandma's underwear" - "oh man, it's still them"... you listen once and it's like, screw it.
