More than half of the album's success was due to factors outside of the music. To make a long story short (for now), everyone was in "LOVE LOVE LOVE come dance, we love each other so much," plus a few bad apples from the Rave scene that didn't actually sell. They slowed down and "musicalized" the bum bum from Rave, especially SMACK MY BITCH UP, featuring THE GIRL who was doing drugs in the video.
If you had only been 5 years older, you would have known that back then it was said that "guys put drugs in girls' drinks to sleep with them."
The girl is doing drugs, Smack my Bitch Up, deep bass that felt great even in stereo for 100,000 lire, characters with a reputation as Ravers... Boom, cash.
In fact, when they tried again, they went to shoot a video with cows in Eastern Europe (which at the time was the Mecca of Rave) and the chorus claimed that THE GIRL had the Roys...
