The Cure The Head On The Door

Well done, Ringo! I also reiterate my clear preference for "a night like this," even though the album is full of beautiful songs (and all very different from each other). Perhaps the album I like the most by The Cure, along with Three Imaginary Boys...

I'm sorry, but I cannot access external links. However, if you provide the text you'd like translated, I can certainly help with that!

Every time "World Of Pain" plays, the little shrimp from my sixteen years resurfaces; I just can't manage to evaluate this album rationally. Yes, perhaps there's a bit too much blues for my tastes, but that little bit of psych influence (there's a bit, come on, damn...) works perfectly to soften the usual perceptions... Outside my window is a tree...

Yes, sorry, bowie&barrett, I took the shortcut, (maybe because the reference to Warhol's works and "pop" in general is so obvious), but the strong connection of the four-part cover of Remain struck me as very powerful. Am I exaggerating? Of course I am!! The quotation is strengthened by the fact that both albums represented the culmination of experimentation for the two bands before returning to "simplicity" ... Anyway, I reiterate that POP was supposed to be the last album of the IUCCIU'.

cover, which (coincidentally?) has all the air of being a quote from Remain In Light...

I haven't read all the previous posts, so I don't know which "light" will cut through this comment of mine... How many lashes do I deserve if I say this is my favorite UDDUE album since War? Setting aside considerations of sincerity and experimental pretensions, I think the shiny little outfits and plastic bits with which Bono and co have adorned their "usual" songs have been perfectly crafted as well as chosen with absolutely enviable taste. Okay, it may be second-hand TripHop and recycled techno that emerges from these grooves, yet this record has a hypnotic power that has been missing for a while in a U2 album... and then the graphics of the booklet were absolutely stunning!
David Bowie Earthling
Voto:
When it came out, I immediately loved it, and even now I can’t help but jump out of my seat when "Battle for Britain" kicks in or get emotional over the wonderful (and Belew-like) solo by Gabrels on "Satellites." Over time, though, I've grown a bit tired of these jungle sounds... nearly 10 years later, I find it much trendier and aged compared to that bolt from the blue that was 1.Outside.
David Bowie "Hours..."
Voto:
mmmh not really. Sure, it's not a perfect album (especially in the acoustic moments and with some "uuap uuap" backing vocals that are a bit too much or some keyboards that feel out of place), but to define a song like "The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell" simply as loud or to label "What's Really Happening" and "New Angels Of Promise" as annoying episodes "enough to turn off the stereo" seems quite unfair, especially when compared to the general insipidity of more recent works. When it came out, I loved Hours, especially after the somewhat forced techno-jungle shift of Earthling, ("At least here he's being himself and not copying the Prodigy," I thought) and I appreciated it even more with the release of Heathen, which I initially felt was a big disappointment. A few years later, it still seems to me to be Bowie’s best album after Outside...
