THE REVIEW

It's been a few years since the release of this album, the first by the Spice Girls.

It was the first original CD I ever bought and honestly I don't regret it! Because, despite the Spice Girls being a commercial group, based on the aesthetics of the 5 girls (who absolutely can't sing, performing live in playback), with songs designed at the table to capture the largest possible audience, I liked it and I still don't mind it at all. And I think I'm not the only one who feels this way, because it's a cheerful CD, original, generally appeals to everyone, and is well-crafted.
Although my musical taste is oriented elsewhere, this CD is the answer to any moment of the day to which you want to add a bit of liveliness. In conclusion, I find this CD pleasant to listen to, but nothing more, because after all, we are talking about a group whose members were randomly selected from 200 aspiring singers who parted ways after a few years, and who, in any case, did not add anything new to the genre.

Summary by Bot

This review reflects on the Spice Girls' debut album 'Spice' as a well-crafted and cheerful pop record. Despite being a commercially driven project characterized by playback singing and formulaic songwriting, the reviewer finds the album enjoyable and lively. Though it doesn't innovate the genre, it remains a pleasant listen perfect for uplifting any moment of the day.

Spice Girls

British pop girl group formed in London in 1994: Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham. Breakthrough came with ‘Wannabe’ in 1996, followed by hit albums ‘Spice’ (1996), ‘Spiceworld’ (1997) and the quartet’s ‘Forever’ (2000). Their ‘Girl Power’ slogan became a global pop-culture marker; the group reunited for tours and a Greatest Hits release in 2007–08, with further appearances in 2012 and 2019.
