Herbie Hancock Possibilities
Voto:
Hal, I haven't listened to the album yet, and maybe (at this point) I won't even listen to it. It seems to me that Herbie sometimes dedicates himself to albums without having the slightest inspiration, but I am convinced that he is one of the best pianists (definitely in the top 10) of jazz in the last 40 years (also because he has written some great jazz pieces that have nothing to envy from the classics; I quickly mention 'watermelonman')... it’s true, after all, that the planet seems to be full of worn-out 'sacred monsters'...

I see you’re stirring the pot here! Not bad with the references, I agree with what Odra said about Molvaer, less so with what the torrential and inspired Antoniodieste said about Jarrett (don’t shoot the pianist)... As for J. Redman, 'Momentum' (just like the album 'Collettivo') seems quite substantial to me (but I’m biased since I’ve liked almost all his works...)... For the rest, I enjoy reading your thoughts, I could never match you in inspired speeches... I’m going to listen to a bit of Sonny 'Colossus' Rollins...
Enzo Jannacci Foto Ricordo

I support the petition! Reprint it! I like Enzo Jannacci for that quality he has of always seeming a little out of tune (almost as if he always has a bit of alcohol in his system) and yet still lucid... not easy...

Socrates, at this point, we're waiting for your review on Smile...
Kurt Elling Man In The Air
Voto:
Socrates, I’m glad I inadvertently returned the favor you did me by introducing me to that particular kind of Josh Rouse. If you’d like to delve deeper into Kurt Elling, you can also look for 'This Time It's Love' (more classic than this even for the repertoire) where there is a dizzying version of My Foolish Heart... safe travels!
Miles Davis Sketches Of Spain

of milesdavis I love many things. I love this too. So in the end, I round off the uneven 4.5 to a peaceful 5. I quite like the review for the intro...

we like the cover even though it's too didactic (either remove the title or remove the image).. the album is very 'Socratic' in the debaserotic sense... Socrates, I particularly admired the reference to "minimal shifts"...

Johann Sebastian Bach - Mischa Maisky Suites Per Violoncello 1-6

So, I bought the double CD (the one with Mischa still with black hair)... for two days now, whenever I can, I put on my headphones and get completely swallowed by it... it feels almost like being under an oceanic abyss... to my little lady, who asks me what the hell I'm doing (when I almost withdraw from everything), I respond that I'm searching for the Sound. She smiles understandingly... Only a few times do I let the sound escape from the speakers, and then the entire house seems to benefit from it... I've also told her about your story (or non-review) and the comments... what piques her interest is mainly the fact that a bunch of folks all over Italy have started searching for a double suite for cello in little shops and big retailers... she (who is suspicious of everything) hasn’t yet decided whether what you wrote is pure fiction or truth... I told her (with the cello in the background) that this is the least important thing...
