great album, great musician, great reviewer. the oud has a fantastic sound and the blend with the piano and harmonica is truly perfect. sometimes I think that this music, these musicians who bring together moods from shores overlooking the same sea (yet divided) are the best "examples" (forgive the word) to follow. let someone put this music in mr. bush's headphones (and what do we make mr. putin listen to?)

hal! I bought Anouar's album (really bought it!) too. And I have to say that it's (this latest one as well) a really great record. I've been following Brahem for quite some time now, and he seems to me a mature and interesting musician; if I may say something a bit out there, he could be called the "Camus of the oud" (I hope you'll forgive me)... By the way, this oud-piano-accordion combination keeps getting better... I'm eagerly waiting for your review...
I don't know Lila Downs, but I'll look her up. Staying in the same area, I would suggest (since Cassandra dismissed her, odradek) "mesk elil" by Souad Massi...

In the end, for reasons unfathomable (even to myself), I never delved deeper into the "project"... I remember a summer concert... for the concert (and the memory of the concert) I would give at least four balls, maybe four and a half. It will come to the point where I’ll have to explore it further... by the way, I mention to the good Hal the release of the new one by Cassandra Wilson, featuring Marc Ribot among the guests.
