The Coral Nightfreak And The Sons Of Becker

Perfectly agree with Psycho! The best newcomers of the last three years.

Finally: this album features no less than 16 guests (16!), but many are just passing through, like Lanegan who is only a backing voice on Taste You (Hal, let it go!). This album is overly ambitious, there’s too much material (and too many friends who came and went from the studio). Not bad are Followed The Waves, Head Unbound, My Foggy Nation, I Need I Want I Will (QOTSA in a female version, beautiful!), aside from these it's all mannered (the horrible Skin Receiver)....

Great band! Well done Humax, good choice, I didn't expect that from you... keep surprising us.

Welcome SouthMan, nice review, concise but effective. Bluvertigo are part of the "blessed" triad (at least for me) along with After and Marlene, so they deserved a space on de-baser.
Bang Gang Something Wrong

Have you ever wondered why Icelanders have such "international" success? In Iceland, if you're an emerging musician (like this BangGang), you're subsidized by the government for every trip abroad. Let me tell you... it’s too easy like that! From the perspective of the Icelandic government, it's not a bad idea; it’s an investment... just look at Bjork, who lives at home and therefore pays taxes on her earnings (which are in the millions), but I wonder… where’s the healthy struggle? When it comes to Icelanders, I'm always skeptical… "to those who made the making of this album difficult, fuck off"... Maybe the "those" think like I do… I won't rate the review because I haven't listened to the album, but it's well written anyway :)

I correct myself: Fernandez and not Hernandez.

zzzzzz, God Machine are grim, heavy, piercing, heartbreaking. They have stared death in the face (during the recording of "One Last Laugh In the Place Of Dying," bassist Hernandez was dying of brain cancer), and in their music, you can feel a slow yet furious spleen, dense but elusive... I would recommend them to those who are not afraid to look into the abyss of the soul...

Don't forget "One Last Laugh In the Place Of Dying" by God Machine!!! An epic album!!!

For me, the Sophia are becoming the thorn in my side this month. When the new one came out (People are Like Seasons), I was a thousand percent excited... now, after several listens, I feel disappointed. I apologize to those I recommended this novelty to... I know Franz is enjoying it, but I think that if he listened to this reviewed one or Fixed Water, he might discover that Propper Shepard has lost a bit of its shine with the new album... I agree with one of the first comments, not mentioning the God Machine is a shame. The God Machine were a punch in the stomach... a band I would recommend to ...fuck... (rather listen to the God Machine, fuck!)....
Ryan Adams Love Is Hell, Pt. 1
Voto:
Livio, I believe you've heard the single taken from "Rock n roll" (the rock-pop album released due to contractual obligations with the record label), not from this album (an intimate and personal work by R. Adams)...
