Well, Enriyka says, in truth, that it's another great work... but not one of the best. I don't see a contradiction in that --- I am disappointed with this album, immensely disappointed. It's not enough to be anti-Bush (by now all American bands are hitting this note, even if it won’t really make that much of a difference on November 2), or to be legends and hold the whole world in your hands. In fact, precisely for these reasons, the responsibility is greater, and so should the courage be; this was the chance to astonish everyone, yet this album is a colossal disappointment. I'm terribly sorry to say it, but that's how it is.

Lady is back aahahaha :D (ladyyyyyyyyyy! :* pciù!) So Silent, "hats off to you" for the writing, but the choice........... oh my! Joey Tempest? "but how do you wear your hair beautiful blonde"? oh my my! Among the curly blondes, I prefer Robert Plant from the good old days, or even better Roger Daltrey. But I'm curious to see them today, Europe... to see how they’ve aged (in wrinkles I mean) :)

I really like Zampaglione; he has brought fresh air to Italian singer-songwriter pop. Not too pop to be compared to a Ramazzotti, not too rock to be a Vasco, and not too alternative to be compared to the everlasting Afterhours... a perfect balance, then, just like in his songs, in his music, in his lyrics. Here... I would place him in the limbo with Silvestri and Gazzé. And let them stay there, please. They are perfect like this.
Avril Lavigne Under My Skin

It's always a pleasure to read your reviews. Okay, you really went hard on poor Jeff (and I had a lot of fun reading everyone else's comments, hehehehe), but I think you write exceptionally well and with a good level of analysis. Then there will be those who turn up their noses and criticize your musical choices, but who cares! Here, I can only say that little Avril really appeals to me and if she continues like this, she'll surprise us with great things. I'm following her with sympathy. I prefer Lavigne over Joss Stone (just to make a generational comparison). Joss, who is great by the way, is already "heavy," already too zavvorrata, already too "adult-erated." For heaven's sake, they're just kids! --- In music, you also need patience. Today everyone wants to shout masterpiece right from the first album, but this actually happens rarely; fortunately, miracles are more unique than rare. Rock is work, dedication, perseverance, and a hell of a lot of guts. Attributes that are part of Avril's character. --- Let me randomly give an example for a temporal comparison: Nina Hagen, unquestionably a great artist of the eighties, at Lavigne's age had braids and sang popular German songs in East Germany... I hope I'm making myself clear... Bye.

I've criticized them elsewhere... and it was painful. Up until this album, I would say R.E.M. are R.E.M., five for the long haul, etc... now I have to take my words back... and I'm almost choking on them!

dwarfs, pf, correct the name, the umlaut is needed over the "u" in Einstürzende, otherwise the other reviews on this phenomenal band won't show up. Airone, you never fail to impress, both in your writing and in your choices. Excellent review for a great album.
