The Black Crowes The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

Exactly, I never said otherwise, but here on Debaser, Pop often equals "cheap." How prejudiced, right? Hi Massimo :) everyone, listen to this album which, put simply, ROCKS! (even if Shake Your Money Maker is rougher and less polished, I almost prefer it even though there's no song like Remedy)

Yes, he is from a family of wandering Irish musicians (everyone in his family plays). He was transplanted to England when he was young. Then there's a British guy named Patrick—what origin do you want him to be?
Noir Désir En Public

The sad end of Cantat? Trell? Cantat is not dead; he’s still around and will be out of jail pretty soon (there are also parole options and special permits). I read an interview with the rest of the band, and they made it clear: Noir Désir is not over; they will wait for him. In the meantime, Cantat is teaching the other inmates French and how to play music, organizing small concerts, writing new songs, and it's certain he'll also publish an autobiography. In short, he's keeping busy; he’s not just there "vegetating."

No, Massimo, I have no allergy to enormous popular success; it's not a judgment of mine, just an observation. I reiterate: I called it one of the best southern albums of recent years, and if it has been successful, all the better. To your question: yes, The Dark Side is pop(ular)... but it’s not light music, it’s not entertainment music, or rather, easy listening. The term pop is often associated with chart light music (from Robbie Williams down) but also with quality melodic music (from the Beatles onwards). A contradiction, right? It’s better to say that pop simply means music for everyone (a definition that is also applied to pop art, by the way), and in this sense, both this album and Dark Side are albums for everyone, it’s undeniable.

"Cowgirl In The Sand" one of my all-time favorite songs.
Tom Zé The Best Of

Tom Zé (or rather David Byrne) deserves credit for, with this album, expanding the epicenter of Brazilian music to the North of Brazil. Probably the best-selling album of Brasil Classics.

It's rock, it's rock Massimo, the (pop) slipped out :)) better if I had called it AOR southern-rock. An album that brought him ENORMOUS commercial success, let's not forget that. After all, I called it "one of the most beautiful southern (nonlodicopiù) albums released in the last 15 years," even though it isn’t anything particularly original... One thing: pop is not a music genre, it means "popular," something that everyone likes, beautiful or ugly... and it’s undeniable that this album pleased everyone (MTV above all). I can tell you this because when it was released I was selling records, and I managed to sell it to the most diverse people, from metalheads to Liftibiano...

one of the finest southern (pop) records released in the last 15 years... the review is lacking, it could have been more. Anyway, bienvenido.

I'm listening to the Black One right now. Monnchild, I would really love to see your review. Go for it. Mr. SfasciaCarrozze, you're right, there's time to listen, it's just the wallet that's suffering.
