(By the way, Irving Welsh plays a part in the film; he's the bastard dealer.)

The "ophthalmology" section has just opened and we are already dealing with double (or rather triple) reviews... what a drag!!!

read the book Puny. The dead child, for example, is an incomplete scene. In the film, the child appears to have died from suffocation or because he was "forgotten," but in reality, in the book he dies from being kicked like a football by drug users in delirium. If Welsh had had the courage to include this scene, would the protagonists still seem so "likeable"? When tackling a subject like this, I believe you shouldn’t hold back. Much better Requiem For A Dream, then. I see this more as a film about friendship and betrayal.-- As for Wir Kinder Von Bahnhof Zoo, I would like to remind that the protagonists were not actors, but just kids, fourteen, fifteen years old, not adults like in Trainspotting, and in certain scenes there are no extras but real drug addicts, who are really getting high.

Pataweb: "Just the soundtrack. It was released along with the film with a magazine, I don't remember which one, but with the movie images it looks much better."... Just to let you know, the song "Sacrifice De Poulets" by Ministere Amer has been censored by French radio. And on the radio, they don't play the images; there, imagination is all you need. :)

Caz is right, he is. I also rambled about the soundtrack without specifying the genre, my bad! Overrated movie? With this film, in my opinion, Kassovitz (the beaten-up skinhead is him) has outdone himself. After that, he was never able to produce something at these levels again. No, it’s one of the few European films from the '90s that ages (or rather, doesn’t age) damn well.

For the record, here is the soundtrack lineup: 1. "Intro" Mathieu Kassovitz 2. "Sacrifice De Poulets" Ministere Amer 3. "Le Vent Tourne" Sens Unik 4. "La 25Eme Image" Iam & Daddy Nuttea 5. "Dealer Pour Survivre" Expression Direkt 6. "C'est La Meme Histoire (C'est Asmeuk)" Ste Strausz' 7. "Requiem" La Cliqua 8. "Le Vague A L'Arme" FFF 9. "Sors Avec Ton Gun" Raggasonic 10. "Bons Baisers Du Poste" Les Sages Poetes De La Rue 11. "L'Etat Assasine" Assasin --- all French except for Sens Unik, who are Swiss. -- I would recommend listening to I'AM, Assassin, and especially FFF (Fédération Française de Funk), a great band. -- Anecdote: when Kassovitz presented the film at Cannes, all the security agents at the entrance of the building turned their backs on him and the crew, thus demonstrating that the film hit the mark.
