Daniel, I also saw it recently, three years ago; I bought it at the newsstand convinced it was a teen movie like you say, but since Sean Penn was in it... I was left speechless, on the contrary. I have a weakness for prison and inmate films :))

Midnight Escape! Great! Brubaker, also known as Robert Redford, who before becoming the warden pretends to be an inmate in the same prison, and then once officially the warden, implements pro-inmate reforms that his superiors don’t like... not a masterpiece, but a nice film.
