not only from all over Italy, but even we Ticinesi would go to Carù to find certain things, especially vinyl, almost like a pilgrimage. Then, when I started selling records myself, he lost a few 'foreign' customers (ahem). Honor to the great BarbaCarù (I thank him for making me discover the hidden side of Los Lobos and for selling me a terrible record by Thorogood, which I still have. It's a keepsake, the 'package' from Carù :) nice review, long live our first 40 years.

But does Moore talk about the lobby of lawyers in the documentary? About all these lawyers who sue the tobacco and fast-food multinationals, or those lawyers lurking in American emergency rooms ready to sue left and right. I don't know, you have hay fever and bam! here’s a lawyer ready to sue the city for not ripping out the grasses, or: you have a mashed liver and bam! here’s a lawyer prepared to sue Budweiser, and so on...

ps the scenario described to you earlier is that of tens of thousands of Swiss people. Every year, thousands more are added.

I like the review. Childish in recounting the plot, which indeed is childish, slightly irritated in its dissection (which it must be). The scenario described in such a gaudy way by Moore unsettles me quite a bit. Here in Switzerland, when it comes to healthcare, we are slowly but inevitably moving towards the American model. Or are we already past it? For example: if I couldn't pay my health insurance (health insurances here are private and not state-run, and they cost an arm and a leg, averaging 250-300 euros a month, all at the expense of the citizen), I would have delinquent accounts piling up. And I would be in considerable distress. This is because here we are OBLIGATED to pay for a health insurance (private) out of our own pockets until retirement. Note: the employer only pays for accident insurance. What happens if I get sick? I would have to go to the hospital (not to the doctor) and provide my identification along with my insurance number (just like in America). Being in arrears with the insurances, I would show up in the hospital's computer system as such (Swiss precision!). Therefore, they only cover the initial visit, and then the doctor decides what to do with me. At this point, it’s the hospitals that are mandated to pay (OBLIGATED TO DO SO, and it really bothers them) for my care. Once the mythical budget allocated for me, the unfortunate one, is exceeded—which the hospitals are obliged to foot but resent doing—around a thousand euros or so, I can be sent home, regardless of my condition, one way or another, they will kick me out. As for the medication: anyone who doesn’t pay their health insurance only needs pharmacies to check the computer and they can refuse to fill your prescriptions if you are listed as insolvent. In short: if I don't pay the insurance, I could end up in jail for not paying my debts, and if I get sick, I have to pay out of pocket if I want treatment (better to do it upfront). There you have it. It seems worse to me than in America; at least there, you don’t have the option of debt.

You rest too ("thank you"), but it’s clear that the de-server didn’t play the good postman.
